After reading these replies, I went ahead and blocked that number. Honestly, BT really ought to be held accountable for whoever owns this line. They should be publicly called out and made to answer for it.

There was this annoying pause, then some background chatter from a call centre. A bloke asked if I was Mr xxxx, but I told him the name of our business instead. Next thing, he just dropped the call straight away - fair bit rude, don’t you think?
