This bloke rang up saying I was entitled to a free medical alert because of my mobility and health issues. He claimed he was ringing from Dorset, but the number actually showed up as Aberystwyth! He wanted to know if I was over 50. I asked him to explain what medical problems he was talking about since I’m not aware of having any. He got stuck and just said he’d only recently started the job. When I questioned how he got my details, he said his manager would phone me back to sort it out. I told him to forget it.

The person calling didn’t mention any names. When I asked who they were trying to reach, the guy, calling himself ‘John’, just said thanks for my time and then hung up. Definitely seemed fishy - not sure what kind of scam it was though.
