I answered the call, but there was silence on the other end. I don't recognise anyone from Aberystwyth, which leads me to believe it might be a dodgy scam.

Definitely a dodgy call regarding boiler cover. They pretended to be from Domestic & General, but the number they were using didn't correspond with theirs at all.

They've reached out claiming to be a home repair service, boasting that they can lower what I owe them. The catch is, I’ve never engaged their services, which raises all sorts of red flags for me. It feels suspiciously like a scam. I've encountered this trick before; there was a different company that pretended to represent a service I actually use.

Received a call from someone claiming to be Peter with State Protection Services. I decided to end the conversation and subsequently blocked the number.

As soon as I picked up the call, the line went dead. It happened on the 31st of May, 2022, around 5:05 PM.

I received a phone call from someone claiming that I was being charged excessively for my boiler insurance. He introduced himself as John and provided me with his extension number, yet he refused to share the main contact number. He mentioned he would connect me to their accounts team, and it seemed he did, as I was then speaking to another gentleman. When I inquired about the company’s identity, he simply stated he was from the accounts department. I proceeded to ask if he was representing British Gas, which is my insurance provider. As I pointed out that I had my policy details at hand, he curtly replied ‘I’ll note you down as a no’ before abruptly disconnecting the call.

I missed the call because I was busy in the shower. Afterward, I dialled 1471 to find out who it was. The number is recent, and I have a hunch it might be one of those scam calls.

I had a call come through at 11.45 and it was eerily similar to what someone else has mentioned in their comment. The caller reiterated the same sorts of things, and just like the previous commenter, I responded that I’m well aware of the scam situation and would not be participating in their nonsense. I then promptly hung up. It’s astonishing how devoid of scruples these individuals are; they really should seek out legitimate employment instead!

Today, I received a call on my home phone from this number, but they didn't bother to leave a message. Curious, I called them back later, using 141 to keep my number hidden, and was greeted by a robotic voice. They purported to offer health monitoring and legacy planning services. Clearly, it’s just another marketing ploy. I've since added them to my blocked list.

I just had a rather odd phone call from a chap named Dave, who was prattling on about slashing "boiler payments." I promptly informed him that we don’t even possess a boiler and then hung up. I've since added the number to my block list!

Received a call from someone purporting to be from the estate or some such thing. They mentioned they were reaching out to all homes due to new government regulations. Sounds a bit dodgy if you ask me!

I've been receiving calls from a pesky telemarketer aiming to peddle their services for cutting expenses at care homes.

Received a call from someone claiming to be called Alex, who was peddling free legal advice to safeguard my property against some new government regulations. He didn’t seem to appreciate my responses and came across as though he was reading off a script. When I mentioned I was away for the Easter break, he looked utterly perplexed!

I received a call from this number earlier today. They inquired about whether I had thought about plans concerning my home in case I might need to consider entering a care facility and possibly selling my property to manage those costs. I wasn’t comfortable discussing it, so I decided to end the call abruptly.
