I’m registered with the TPS and usually don't share my landline since it’s hardly ever used. This call definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Got a call from some woman with an American accent saying I called them - weird since I definitely didn’t. Seems like some dodgy scam to me.

Got a call early this morning at 8:33 and I just hung up straight away. Then, like a minute later, another call came through from a different number but I reckon it was the same person, so I ignored it. The phone switched to voicemail but nothing was left behind. Not really shocked. Seems like one of those scam calls to me.

She called me asking for my bank details to “insure” my washing machine. I just gave her a random sort code and account number. When she told me it didn’t match up, I told her I was joking and just messing about since she was wasting my time!

I usually don’t pick up my landline from numbers I don’t recognise, so I just looked the number up on Who Called Me instead.

I've had my number registered with the TPS for ages now. I hardly ever use my landline and I've never shared that number with anyone. This has to be a scam call, no doubt about it.

Just got home and my elderly mum picked up the phone. Some guy with an Indian accent said he needed her washing machine insurance info. Since she’s expecting a call about fixing the machine, she figured it was legit. Luckily, I walked in right then and told her it was a scam. Honestly, if I’d come home a bit later, who knows what might’ve gone down.

You could hear people chatting in the background, so it’s clearly a call centre. I picked up and they just hung up right away. Total scam, I blocked the number straight away... and yet they keep ringing!

I got a ring from an Indian call centre claiming to be from Home Star Improvements. They said they’d send a “government advisor” round to do a free loft survey. Sounds dodgy to me, cos basically the bloke doing the survey is just a salesman trying to spot issues so he can sell you repairs - like spray foam insulation - which can actually mess up your house’s value. Definitely not something I’d trust.

Got a call from a polite bloke with an Asian accent claiming my washing machine cover had run out, but he could sort a renewal for just £9. I asked him the name of the company that supposedly insured me and how much I'd paid before. He sounded like he was just reading lines and didn’t have a clue. Ended up hanging up mid-call and cutting me off.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent trying to push washing machine insurance on me. I was a bit annoyed and told him straight up I reckoned it was a scam. When I asked what he actually knew about me or my washing machine, he pretty much had no clue, which only made me more sure it was dodgy. I kept chatting to him, making him repeat stuff and asking daft questions just to waste his time, and in the end, he just hung up on me.

01968582992 Didn’t pick up when this number called, but if I do get through, I drag the convo out mad long. I act like I’m hard of hearing, asking them to say things again, spell stuff, or just shout louder. Then I throw in random questions like asking about the weather with them or what they’re wearing. Oh, and do they fancy chips? Proper funny to mess about like that!

I was out when they rang and didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. Feels like one of those scam calls to me. Seriously, who actually falls for these dodgy callers?

Seems like I've fallen prey to some dodgy spiel regarding a warranty on appliances. My number's unlisted, but my partner's is publicly available. Since I was the one who bought and is covered under the warranty, it's clear that this caller must have just plucked a name from the directory at random.

Watch out, these folks are nothing but scammers looking to steal from you. Stay alert.

They kept ringing my 97 year old mum’s phone, which is weird because they actually used her name. When I picked up the last time, it was some sort of call centre, sounded like a woman with an Asian accent. I ended the call straight away. Then they tried calling back a few minutes after, but she didn’t pick up.

My mum, who’s 97, got a phone call from a bloke with an Asian accent. He actually knew her name, which was a bit odd. She asked him a few times what he wanted but couldn’t really catch what he was saying, so in the end she just kindly hung up.

The caller seemed to recognise my name but paused for a bit, as if they were searching for it in a list. There was quite a bit of noise in the background too. Since I don't have any contacts in Penicuik, I’m left to assume it was some sort of nuisance call.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying it was about insuring kitchen appliances. Felt really dodgy, like a scam or some phishing trick trying to snag my bank or card info. The call seemed to be going through some middleman company called IP Voice Networks, probably to hide where they were really calling from. Best to avoid giving them anything at all.
