Heard loads of people getting caught out by this, so just hang up straight away.IndiaCarphoneWarehouse3 yearsI got a call from someone saying they were from Three. They already knew how much I’m paying on my current plan and how much data I get, so I thought it was legit. They offered me an early upgrade even though my contract isn’t up for another few months. The deal they mentioned was exactly what I’m already paying now but for the iPhone 14 Pro Max (I currently have the XR). I naively gave some info but stopped when they asked for my full card number - I said no way! I did give them my sort code, account number, date of birth and address, but never handed over my full card or email. I asked them to ring back on a Three number but they called again from a hidden number instead. Then they gave me a number to ring back on which didn’t work at all. I’m ignoring the calls now but I’m really worried - can they use the details I gave for fraud? Tried ringing Three customer service but it’s impossible to speak to a real person. When I checked online, it says no upgrade is possible until my current contract finishes. I still can’t believe I fell for this. Definitely feels like a scam to me!3 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from Three. They actually knew how much my current plan costs and how much data I’ve got left, so I thought it was legit. They offered me an early upgrade even though my contract still has a few months to run. They said the deal would be exactly the same as what I’m paying now but for the new iPhone 14 Pro Max (I’m currently on an XR). I got a bit carried away and gave them some details, but when they asked for my full card number, I stopped them right there. Gave out my bank details, date of birth and address but refused the card info or my email. Asked for a callback from a Three number but they rang me back with no caller ID! Then gave me a number to ring but it didn’t go through. Since then I’ve ignored the calls but I’m honestly worried if they can use the info I gave to commit fraud. Tried calling Three myself but it’s impossible to get through to anyone useful. Checked online and the upgrade option says I can’t get one before my contract ends. Really annoyed I fell for it now! Looks like a definite scam to me!3 yearsI picked up the phone and the person said they were calling from Three. They wanted me to share how much I pay each month for my “sim plan” so they could “offer a discount”. I told them if they were really from Three, they’d already have that info. The thing is, I’m with Three but not on a sim-only deal. So I challenged them, saying, “If you’re genuine, go ahead and tell me what I pay.” After that, they just ended the call. If they ever call you, have a bit of fun with them - it’s quite entertaining!Three3 yearsI had the exact same thing happen to me.3 yearsThey ring you and then just put the phone down when you answer.Submit Your Own Report (01968 582943)
