I just had a rather dubious call from someone purporting to be "Jennifer from BT OpenReach," who had a very pronounced South Asian accent. She claimed that they’d received some kind of report indicating my internet connection was lagging behind what it ought to be. Now, I’d previously flagged this issue with BT a few weeks back, and it was all rectified when a technician came to my residence. I was certain that this call was a scam. I confronted "Jennifer" quite firmly, which prompted her to abruptly terminate the conversation. I’ve since reported the incident to BT, as well as to Action Fraud and the Information Commissioner's Office.
