i got a call from someone speaking with an asian accent who said they were from google. they told me my pc had a virus and offered to sort it out. i was polite but suspicious, suggesting they might actually want to harm my machine and said i'd hang up. not long after, they phoned again, using threats about shutting down my computer within an hour and even mentioned my home address correctly. i refused again and ended the call. it's been over a day now and my computer is perfectly fine. seems like it was a dodgy call!
