I've been receiving these pesky scam calls weekly, claiming I was involved in a car accident that wasn’t even on my radar. I decided to play along for a moment but realised it was all nonsense, so I simply ended the call.

I got a voicemail telling me to call back because it was urgent and if I ignored I could face legal trouble, which freaked me out a bit. Then just last week, a different message came through saying it was from the tax office and I needed to respond quickly because it's important. I didn’t bother calling either time, convinced it was just another scam trying to scare me.

Got a call from this number saying I’d been badly hurt in a car accident and that I should sue the other driver for compensation. Thing is, I don’t even drive! I’m sitting here typing this with no injuries, in full control of my limbs and thinking straight. Unless they’ve got info I don’t know about, this has to be a scam.

Got a call from these folks just now - first there was nothing but silence, then a lady started asking about some accident I supposedly had last year. I told her I didn’t have any accidents at all and asked what exactly she was talking about, and then she just hung up on me.

Today I got a call from this number about a car crash supposedly from the past couple of years. The guy on the line, who sounded Indian and said his name was John, wanted me to confirm the details of the accident. When I asked him to explain what he meant, he just handed me over to another person. This new caller basically repeated John’s claim but then had the nerve to call me an id##t before hanging up! I stayed polite and calm the entire time, so what he said wasn’t on. Honestly, I reckon these lot are the real id##ts for just cold calling strangers like that.

Got a call just before 8 in the evening but no voicemail was left, I always check who’s calling by using 1471 and this number popped up. After having a look at the earlier comments, it looks like it might be dodgy. I have no idea who could be ringing from this number.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent who said his name was Imran. I just said "no thanks" and ended the call. This happened today, 21st Jan at about 1:30pm. Then the same number called me back at 6:12pm, but there was nothing but silence on the other end. The number was 01962340917.

Got a call from this number at around 4.35pm, and the guy said his name was "Imran". He wanted to chat about a car crash or something like that. I fibbed and told him I'd had a car accident years back just to get him off the line. He quickly said goodbye and hung up after that.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Asian accent saying, "I'm calling about your car accident. Did you have an accident, yes?" When I questioned him about where he found my info, especially since I'm on the TPS list, he just dropped the call. This was their second attempt at phoning me.

Got a call from some "accident helpline" about a car crash supposedly involving me, but i haven't had any accidents at all. Definitely a scam. When I told them to check their numbers first because I'm on the TPS list, they argued back and then just hung up on me. The caller had an asian accent, FWIW.

Typical scam stuff again - some group going by 'M.I.B' supposedly. They claim I was in a car crash recently, which is rubbish! Got a call from a woman with a strong Asian accent, sounded quite sketchy if you ask me. These calls are proper annoying, honestly. I wish they’d all just disappear! No info at all - got a call from Guardian but didn’t say who they were. Tried calling back, left a message, but the answering machine said the number isn’t recognised. Definitely spam.

I was a bit slow to answer the phone but when I finally did, all I got was silence on the other end. Honestly, it reminded me a lot of what the second comment said about this number. I was kinda shocked though that the number showed up instead of being hidden when I checked with 1471.
