Same here, sometimes they just drop the call as soon as I pick up, other times they try to get me to answer some questions. Surely, if enough people-say 50 or more-file complaints, the number in question should be barred from service altogether. Furthermore, I reckon the Communications Ombudsman and Ofcom (that supposed regulator) ought to step up and enforce such a policy across all phone service providers in the UK. Honestly have no clue but after seeing everyone's comments I’m not even gonna try! My phone blocks the number automatically now, got myself a BT8500 Nuisance Call Blocker and it's been ace - whenever a new number pops up I just search it here first. Since putting it in, no one’s asked me ‘to do a survey’ or anything like that.

After putting up a Nuisance Post on 16.10.2014 about "3 calls in 4 hours," I got another call from the same Indian caller. They kept insisting I answer their questions to get off their phone list, even though I made it clear I wasn't going to respond. I even joked about being an alien from another planet, asking which planet I was from and if the postcode they had was right. They then said they'd keep calling if I didn’t answer, which felt like nothing but harassment and a threat.

Someone rang me asking for a different last name. I told them no one by that name lived here and they just ended the call. I used 1471 to get the number and tried calling back to maybe get an apology for being so rude but the number didn’t show up, even though it looked like it was real.
