I received a call from a gentleman with an Indian accent, insisting he was from BT and that he could assist with some so-called issues with my internet connection. He droned on in a rather convincing manner until I finally interrupted, expressing my suspicion and informing him I’d rather not engage further. I promptly ended the conversation and have now added that number to my ever-growing block list.

It was just a dodgy call, 100% a scam.

Absolutely a fraudulent call! A gentleman with an Indian accent contacted me, claiming to be from BT. He warned me that my phone and internet would be disconnected for a week because my line had been compromised. Astonishingly, he went on to say I would be liable for any charges incurred if I didn’t allow them to rectify the situation. Then, almost as if it was a magical fix, he assured me they could sort it all out over the phone right then and there. When I explained that I was looking after children and didn’t have access to the homeowner's computer, he seemed unfazed and insisted it could all be handled telephonically! Unbelievable!

An individual claiming to be from BT rang me up, asserting that my phone and internet were on the verge of disconnection for an entire week due to a hacking incident on my line. They made it sound rather urgent, insisting that I would be liable for any expenses incurred if I didn’t allow them to resolve the issue. Oddly enough, they soon offered to fix everything immediately. When I informed them that, as a childminder, I couldn’t get to the homeowner’s computer, they cheerfully assured me this wouldn’t be an obstacle since it could all be handled over the phone! Clearly, a scam through and through.
