Don't ever ring back a missed call from a number you don't recognise without having a proper look at it first. Honestly, it's such a daft thing to do!!! You might be inviting all sorts of problems, like ending up talking to a premium rate line. Scammers especially prey on folks who aren't careful. That's how they make their money, simple as that.

The first one ended with them just hanging up, and the second time, a person said they were from Resin Driveways for You and mentioned they’d talked to a Mr Simpson using my number before. I’ve just moved into a new house with a new driveway and have never heard of any Mr Simpson. This number has only ever belonged to me. I told them to remove my number, and when I asked how they obtained it, the woman said it came from "our system"!

I picked up, but they just cut the call. I called back and got a voicemail about a deadline. Tried the Telford window firm listed here on another line but they had shut for the day. Then about ten minutes later this same number called me again, but this time they actually said they were from a driveway company. I told them straight up to never call me again and that I wouldn’t be using their services because of all the creepy calls with heavy breathing. Mentioned I reported them to the police and the regulator, they said sorry and promised to take my number off their list.

I've come across another comment where someone mentioned getting a call from a window firm based in Telford. Interestingly, we also had a run-in with a door-to-door window sales team back in 2018. We got our windows fitted by Wheathersafe, and they call every couple of months to check if there’s any issues. I let them know there’s a problem with the door, and they say they’ll get back to me but never do. Then after a few more months, it’s the same chat all over again. Had issues during installation too. I’ve tried to be patient, but I’m starting to think they’re just a load of muppets! For what it’s worth, I’ve been a carpenter for over 22 years, so I know what I’m on about!
