Phone number ☎️ 01942928049 👆 is reported as a persistent scam call mostly pushing medical alert pendants. Callers claim to be local healthcare workers or advisors, often without providing verifiable details. Many users highlight it as a dangerous tactic targeting vulnerable people, sometimes asking personal medical questions to sell unnecessary or fake emergency systems. Overall, it’s a nuisance scam that’s best ignored and reported rather than engaged with.

Blocking them doesn’t really work cause these scammers use so many fake numbers that change all the time, lots generated by computers from who knows where. The best thing I’ve found is to text 7726 to report them. There’s more details in comment 2 below. Also worth having a look at the police’s Action Fraud website if you want to learn how to report these scam calls properly.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from a medical alert service or something, sounded dodgy to me. As soon as I ended the call, I blocked the number straight away.

Tried calling back but no reply, strange thing is it does ring and the ringtone sounds foreign, not from the UK! Totally silent when I first got the call.

I received a call from this number, but there was nothing but silence on the other end. When I tried ringing them back, they claimed to be from a law firm. Quite peculiar, if you ask me!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be a doctor around my area - I'm based in Kent, but the number actually showed Wigan! As soon as he began going on about some medical alert device he wanted me to buy, I just ended the call. Total scammy nuisance if you ask me.

Just got a call asking if I knew that half a million folks don’t own medical alert pendants. Told them I wasn’t interested and they quickly ended the call. Feels dodgy, like a possible scam to me.

He said, "Hi, I’m Simon, I work in healthcare around here." I asked, "What exactly do you mean by 'around here'?" Then he quickly replied, "Ah, sorry about that, looks like we got the wrong number. We'll remove you from our list. Cheers."

Got woken up by a call with no one speaking, really annoying because I work night shifts and was fast asleep.

Very much the same story as others have said. The guy claimed to be a local health consultant. I asked him what type of medical advisor he was since I’m in healthcare around here. He didn’t reply straight away, just a pause, then started going on about me qualifying for some kind of medical alert device. I ended the call quickly as it was clearly a scam. This kind of call worries me, especially for elderly or vulnerable people who might believe it’s from their GP or social workers and end up giving away private info.

Got a silent call, but this time I just kept quiet since the number was unknown. If it was someone genuine, they'd say who they were straight away. Nope, this one just hung up right away. Classic scam move.

Didn't get any voicemail or anything, so I'm guessing it's one of those dumb scammers from India or Pakistan once again.

Hey, he ain’t Simon and definitely isn’t some local health worker. Does he even realise what he’s doing is against the law?

I got a call from someone saying they were a local health advisor, but when I asked they claimed they got my number from some government agency. It was one of those annoying medical alert sales calls. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Got a phone call off someone claiming to be a health adviser trying to sell medical alert pendants. I just hung up straight away.

Got a call claiming I was on some kind of medical alert list and needed help right away. They mentioned they were calling from Dorset, but seemed to be just reciting a script and never gave me a contact number. Feels really dodgy - no idea if it was a robot or an actual person, these days it’s hard to tell. Seriously, why aren’t the authorities cracking down on this? Best thing to do is just hang up and block the number immediately.

Got a call from this number about some medical alert pendants. Right away, it felt dodgy. The guy started off asking if I had diabetes or any heart issues, and if I’d fallen in the past couple of weeks. Then he got onto this sales pitch for these pendants. I asked if there was an age limit (I’m in my 30s), but he just stuck strictly to his script. When I pressed about the age thing again, he said he’d have to put me on hold - I didn’t hang about and just ended it there. Definitely reporting it as this seems like it could be harmful, especially to older or more vulnerable folks.

Some bloke rang me saying he was my "local health advisor" trying to sell these medical alert bracelets, but it felt like he was fishing for my health info. Seemed like a proper scam to me, even tho he sounded well professional and convincing. People might get tricked by this for sure. Don’t ever share your info with random callers, no matter what they say.

Never picking up when some dodgy number pops up that screams scam from the start - if you’re a scammer, do us all a favour and go bounce on a busy highway or something.

I received a proposal for a follow-up medical alarm, but I have no use for it. I'm quite convinced that it's a con job.

01942928049 CALL CAME FROM WIGAN AREA, THEY WERE ASKING LOADS OF QUESTIONS TO GATHER INFO ABOUT YOU, PROBABLY TO SELL IT TO THIRD PARTIES. ALSO TRIED PUSHING MEDICAL ALERT PENDANTS WHICH ARE UNNECESSARY. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND DON’T SHARE ANY INFORMATION 🚫. THESE CALLS CAN REALLY MISLEAD OLDER PEOPLE INTO HANDING OVER SENSITIVE INFO. IT’S VERY WORRIED ME. SHOULDN'T BE LEGAL TO ASK FOR PERSONAL DETAILS LIKE THIS. I’D SAY THIS IS QUITE RISKY AND OUGHT TO BE STOPPED.

Just got a ring from this number. The person said they were from some healthcare service in the UK, trying to sell a medical alert system on a subscription plan. They told me they thought I was over 60, which I’m definitely not. When I corrected them, they just hung up straight away. The whole chat felt super weird, like they were some kind of automated voice. Felt dodgy as they didn’t even bother to say farewell before ending the call.

Got a call from some bloke who said I was due for a medical and needed a medical pendant. Didn’t tell me his name or anything, just said he was the medical advisor for my area. I called careline, who manage this number, and they’ve sent it over to safeguarding. I asked for more info and he just hung up. Totally a scam.
