I always avoid picking up calls from numbers I don’t recognise because of all the scam calls going around - if it really mattered, they’d leave me a voicemail. Have blocked that number now.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the UK Legal team, claiming my home insurance showed I’d been in a car crash. I told them A) I don’t even have a driving licence, B) I ain’t got any insurance policy, and C) how would my home insurance even know about a car accident? They just hung up on me after that.

Got a call from someone saying some1 had crashed into a car I was in last year. When I tried to ask which car it was, they just kept going on. I told them to "calm down and shut up," and they got all offended like "is that how u speak to ppl?" I asked again which car and then they just hung up on me. I've blocked them now.

Got a call from someone in India saying I'd been in a slight car accident recently and could get compensation. As far as I know, I haven’t been in any accident at all! When I asked for details about when it supposedly happened and where he got my info, he just started going on about GDPR and accused me of trying to get him to commit fraud. I told him the call seemed dodgy if he couldn't prove where my personal data came from, and that’s when he hung up.

The call rang on my husband's mobile, so I picked up and said our company name. There was a slight delay before it connected, which made me suspect it was a call centre or some sort of scam. A man, who said his name was Simon and sounded Indian, asked for my husband by his first name. I told him he was busy in a meeting and asked if I could pass on a message. Before he could answer, the call suddenly got cut off from their side.

They said they were from 'Legal Assist' and told me my insurance company told them I’d been in a small accident. When I asked how they had that info, who my insurer was, or if their claim didn’t add up, they couldn’t really give any proper answers, just kept repeating their lines. After a few minutes of me messing about with them, they just gave up and hung up.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who gave his name as Craig Carter. He said I’d been in an accident, but when I asked when it happened, he finally admitted it was about a year ago. I told him he was talking nonsense and he should find a real job, then he started getting rude. Obviously just reading from a script. There’s no way his name’s Craig Carter. Tried ringing the number back and it was dead. WATCH OUT, this is definitely a SCAM!!

Got a call from this number claiming they were legal helpers and that I’d been in a car crash within the past 18 months. They said they got my info from a third party. The woman was really rude, wouldn’t tell me how they got my details, just kept pushing to confirm the accident so they could send me a £3,000 cheque. When I asked what address they had for me, she got even more nasty, so I ended the call. I don’t usually like hanging up on people since I don’t want it done to me, but her attitude just kept getting worse.

Somebody rang me saying they were from legal assist about an accident report linked to my insurance. When I asked how they got hold of my insurance details, they suddenly switched the topic and then just ended the call.

so apparently, about 14 months back, i got into an accident and the other person supposedly took full blame, so i was told i’m owed a decent payout. what a load of rubbish - the caller wanted me to answer 6 questions but when i asked him 6 in return, this so-called mr craig parker got all quiet and hung up. seriously, why can’t they just track these people down and stop them these days?

this is one of those accident scam calls. they’re not real, just want your bank info and will try to make you believe they’ll sort your claim and put money in your account. they won’t do that but they’ll have your bank details. watch out!
