It's definitely EE's way of marketing, I called them about this previously and now that I've got a new phone, they're calling me again. They do it to figure out who owns the number using voice recognition, it's like Big Brother not just watching but eavesdropping too. People really need to understand how serious this invasion is. Proper over the top government control!

So, I've realised that this is just EE's idea of "advertising." I previously contacted them regarding this matter, and now that I've got myself a new mobile, they're at it again with the phone calls. It feels like they're trying to track who’s behind the number using some sort of voice ID tech. It’s like having Big Brother peering over your shoulder, and honestly, it’s about time folks started paying attention to the intrusive nature of the government!

Sounds like it's an EE number. I didn’t pick up at first but rang back and the voice on the line said it was an EE operator. They then gave us the number 01942 901140 and told us to call 08000696940 if we want to remove our number from their list, but that number’s dead now.

This phone number feels strange to me. I don’t remember making any calls out, apart from maybe to some Tribunal or something. And no one seems to call me back either. It rings out of the blue sometimes, but I just ignore it, obviously.

definitely a scam call. the bloke sounded english so i followed what he was saying. he claimed to be from ee with some offer. when i told him i'd got issues with ee and started giving him a right earful, he told me to call customer service and then just cut me off! changed my number just a few months ago, so thought it might be legit since he was speaking proper english. watch out lads!!! how on earth do these #### get hold of my number???!!!

I had a feeling this might be a dodgy call so I ended the call and then rang EE using 150. They told me it’s actually a marketing firm they hire (so not EE directly, despite what the callers say) calling to persuade folks to switch from PAYG to yearly contracts. I asked to be taken off their call list, and the operator sorted it out for me (she also took me off loads of other marketing lists while she was at it). It's a bit annoying and misleading but not really a scam, and pretty easy to fix.

Next, they said they wanted to send a PIN to my phone?! I ended the call straight away and blocked the number. Don’t engage with them or let them send you any codes!!

This number has called me 11 times in the past few "working" days. 4 calls on Friday, 4 yesterday, and 3 today. The second you reject the call, it rings straight back within a split second, again and again. It feels like harassment and it's really disrespectful. You’re always meant to put any info straight into your phone yourself. Loads of scammers, mainly from Kolkata, claim they’re from Microsoft, Norton, Amazon, PayPal and other big firms. Don’t be fooled, none of these firms actually call or email you like that, so stay alert!

Got a call on Thursday 3rd August 2023 at noon but I was out, so didn’t pick up. Then another call the same day at 6:12 pm, again I was out and missed it. They called again on Friday 4th August 2023 at 5:56 pm, and I missed that too. I swear I’ve not shared my number without updating my contacts first. If they’re not in my phone, they’re just some annoying telemarketer or a scammer trying their luck.

I rang EE and they said it’s a legit office department of theirs. They’re doing 30% off sim-only plans and 20% off devices on their own. Then they sent me a text with a link starting with 'eu.' and it showed 'EE' at the top. When I called EE again, they confirmed it was a budget plan that hadn’t gone through yet but was due soon. It might sound like a third-party firm, but all they wanted was my sort code and account number, so I wouldn’t jump to calling it a scam right away!
