Got a strange text from this number with a link but no clue who it was from, so I just ignored it and never clicked. Looks like most of the reports here are from England, but since I'm up in North East Scotland, reckon these scammers are spreading their reach.

Watch out, I received a text from this number asking for my NI number, saying I could get a refund on PPI tax. They pretended to have information from HMRC. It’s awful how they target vulnerable and disabled folks like that. Someone really needs to take action against these scammers.

I suspect I may have been targeted by a phishing scam over the phone. The chap on the line was firing off all manner of questions and claimed to represent the HMRC. He was eager to assist me in securing my Marriage Tax Allowance, which I found a bit dodgy. To top it off, he went as far as to request my National Insurance number. Quite audacious, really!

This feels like it's skirting the edge of legality. My missus keeps getting hassled by this outfit called Wyndan Group. They want us to give up our rights so they can collect any cash owed to us from HMRC or other places, then they take a massive 40% fee for “administration”. Honestly, just block these calls - it’s a total rip-off. HMRC sorts this stuff out themselves, for free, no sneaky fees or dodgy middlemen involved.

I got a call from a lady claiming to be from Wyndan Group, supposedly working for HMRC, telling me I could claim Marriage Tax Allowance. I didn’t reply like she asked since it felt dodgy to me. Now, I’m getting emails and texts that are quite threatening, saying if I don’t finish the process by clicking the link they sent, I might end up overpaying around £1220. These messages come at about 7.34pm every night, the most recent one being tonight (Sunday 13th June). I won’t be responding at all. I’m pretty sure this is just a scam. The messages are coming from the number 01937 302115.

He said he was from a place called 'Linden' but couldn’t actually say where that is! I didn’t press button 1 like he told me to and told him HMRC never ring you out of the blue like that. I got a call from a guy who said his name was Suresh and claimed he was calling from HMRC. He wanted me to listen to some pre-recorded message about claiming the married tax allowance and told me to press 1 for details. I didn’t press anything and suddenly got connected back to him. Then he said he was from some HMRC Wyndham Group, but when I mentioned that all calls are recorded and he was basically breaking the law by cold calling, he started backtracking. He was trying to sell me rubbish, saying you had to be married before April 1935 to even qualify for this! He couldn’t name the CEO of his company and kept interrupting me when I told him HMRC don’t just cold call and this was clearly a scam trying to grab personal info to either fool you or push dodgy sales. Be careful and don’t fall for it. Make sure you report these scammers to [email protected]. Give them your phone number, the caller's number, and when the call happened. They’re just taking advantage of folks stuck at home promising fake "free money". Total dodgers.
