Someone rang claiming to be from NatWest, asking if I’d arranged a direct debit for £160 a month to British Gas. They wanted the first four digits of my credit card and then asked for the expiry date, which I didn’t provide. I told them I don’t even have gas at my place. It was clearly a scam, saying they were cancelling the direct debit but needed my card info. They also tried to get my mobile number, but I didn’t share that either. The call came from 01935 350203.

Got a call from someone saying they're with the fraud team at a London bank, saying my Octopus account had been compromised. They claimed someone was attempting to withdraw £300 and wanted my card details to block it. The number showed a Yeovil area code though, so I just messed about and kept them on the line for half an hour until they gave up.

I received a call earlier today from this number, despite being ex-directory and having my digits withheld. The caller launched straight into a sales pitch about windows, conservatories, and resin driveways, none of which I have any intention of purchasing. Even after I firmly stated my lack of interest, he completely disregarded my response and persisted with his scripted spiel. However, the moment I inquired about how he had obtained my number, he abruptly hung up. Quite rude, if you ask me!

I've been receiving a slew of calls from this particular number. I picked up the phone once, but there was absolutely no one there on the other end. Is this racking up charges for me? I’m absolutely fed up! I've had these persistent callers bombard me with 17 calls over the last nine days. I've repeatedly asked them to cease their incessant ringing, yet they remain undeterred. They initially claim to represent an insurance company, but the next thing I know, they’re ringing me again at all sorts of odd hours, masquerading as someone else entirely, telling me I've won various prizes. It makes me wonder, how on earth do they acquire my number? It feels like harassment - as if there's an endless swarm of flies buzzing around, yet they’re ever so elusive!
