9 yearsI received a call from the number mentioned above, and it was an Indian-accented bloke who claimed to be representing BT. He asserted that my IP address was compromised and insisted he needed access to my device to sort it out. I played along, telling him my mobile was kaput and that I didn't even possess a computer. He then mentioned he'd have to disconnect me from their system. I requested to speak to his supervisor, just out of curiosity, and another gentleman took over, spouting the same nonsense. I confronted him, asserting he wasn’t actually with BT but rather a scam artist. His reply was merely that he'd disconnect me, to which I retorted it mattered little, as I wasn't connected to the internet anyhow. He promptly hung up.
