Got a call from some guy with an Asian accent pretending to be from my internet provider, saying there was an issue with my Windows PC and that some Angelena from Texas was messing with it. I tried to hang up but he said he’d put me on a Microsoft blacklist and block my internet. I ended the call but he kept ringing me back nonstop until I picked up again. Then I kept asking him for the name of my ISP but he couldn’t give it. After he threatened to cut off my net, he finally gave up and hung up. Who are these muppets anyway?

Got a call from a guy who sounded Pakistani, calling himself Chris. He claimed some Mohamed al Passat from Syria had all my info. I just kept stammering like “umm umm um um ummm” and then he told me I sounded half asleep. I tried to answer back with more “um um errr um um” and then he hung up on me. Proper gutted and now a bit paranoid about anyone foreign calling me, seems like it happens no matter where I am.

01932570518 called me earlier and this time there was total silence. But when they phoned this morning, they wanted to speak with me (they knew my real name). Then they said someone from Arizona had been trying to get into my email and told me to switch on my computer. I said no way and ended the call after that.

I just stay quiet and then end the call. If I’ve got a bit of time and the caller actually talks, I sometimes use a weak, shaky voice and tell them to hold on while I go upstairs to my computer. I let them wait while I get on with washing the dishes or something, then I hang up. They nearly always ring back asking why I cut off. I usually say something like if they’re gonna waste my time, I’ll do the same to them. Or I keep up the feeble voice and say I forgot what I needed upstairs. Acting a bit doddery seems to annoy them almost as much as they annoy me!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying my computer was full of errors and I needed to switch it on right away or they'd block all my services. He sort of mentioned a company but I couldn't quite catch the name. When I refused, they put me through to some guy called David Parsons, also Asian, who claimed to be calling from 14 Hanover Street, London. I just hung up straight away!

Got a call from a woman with a strange accent, saying my computer was sending out error signals and she could sort it out. I was pretty sure it was dodgy from the start. Asked her to show proof of who she was, and she got really pushy, insisting she'd give me a licence number to check on my computer. Then I asked when my machine last had an error, and she just hung up. This number’s called me a few times before, each time with a new story.

Got a call from Jackie at 10:45 this morning asking for my husband. When I said he wasn’t here, she asked what the call was regarding - said something about a Windows computer issue. I told her she was the second caller today and asked for her company name, but she just ended the call. I rang 1471 afterwards and saw the number was the same as before. First call I got today was from an unknown number at 8:33am with a similar message, always hanging up abruptly. Proper annoying. Maybe I should just disconnect the landline?

Spoke with a heavy Indian accent and claimed to be with BT (definitely not Microsoft). Called over the weekend and rang again this morning, catching my husband, who knows zilch about our computers. He said he’d ring back this arvo. Mentioned we’d had some router work done before and apparently they couldn’t update the software, so wanted us to have a computer ready to follow some steps over the phone. No way. When he calls again, I’ll tell him exactly what I think.

Faking the number that shows on your phone is pretty simple. The firm that provides those autodial devices can set them up to display absolutely any number they choose. So, just because your Caller ID displays a certain number, it doesn't mean thats the actual source of the call.

These morons kept ringing my folks, telling them their accounts were compromised, obviously hoping they'd log in so they can scam some cash. My parents are well used to this since they’ve had more than 50 calls from similar Indian scammers attempting the same trick. They’ve got to be daft to keep at it, and from what I heard, they’re really pushy and cheeky too. Seriously, BT needs to step up and fix this, especially since this time the number was a UK one, not hidden.

Had a call from some bloke with a thick Indian accent who was goin’ on about my computer having issues. He had no clue about how many computers are actually used at my place. When I told him no one here has reported any problems, he sounded proper baffled. Then he just hung up on me. If you ever get calls like this, make sure you ask them for the IP address of the computer they’re claiming has a problem. It’s all a load of scams.

Got a call today where no one spoke, just silence hanging there. Total waste of time and really irritating. Honestly, why aren’t these kinds of calls banned? The people doing this should be held accountable.

Had some bloke with a thick Indian accent going on about issues with my PC. Totally clueless about how many computers we actually got here. Got all muddled when I told him no one’s mentioned any problems. Then he just cut off the call. If you get these idiots, ask them for the IP address of the device that’s supposedly having trouble. They’re definite scammers.

Received a call saying my Microsoft PC is infected with a virus. I know it’s a scam but it's crazy how they keep doing this. I just said I don’t own a computer and they quickly ended the call.

This was like my third time getting a call, and all I heard was silence, then someone talking in a weird accent I couldn't understand, really poor connection. Last time it was that usual awkward pause before they said something like "your computer's been compromised" or whatever. Honestly, just hang up straight away.

I received a call from this number and I could hardly decipher what the caller was going on about. It sounded like they were mentioning a report concerning a computer issue or something along those lines. I decided to hang up.

Somebody rang up sayin' there was something wrong with my computer. I spotted it was dodgy straight away, so I told him to give me his card info so I could charge a £300 consulting fee. Then he called back from another number and asked if he'd get to f##k me for that! I warned him I'd report him for making an indecent call, and he just hung up.

Got a call from this number today claiming my email was hacked and they were from Norton. It was a woman speaking with a foreign accent. She was pretty pushy and when I said I didn’t buy any of it and called her out for being a scammer, she just laughed and then ended the call.

I got a call from someone with an accent I couldn’t place, saying there was something wrong with my Windows PC. I told him I didn’t own one, and he just dropped the call. We’ve been getting loads of these calls about Windows computers, so I was pretty sure it was a scam from the start.

There was nothing said, just a faint static noise on the line. Honestly, best to just leave it be.
