I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise because lately, I’ve been getting loads of scam calls, either from fake energy company reps or folks pretending to be from Microsoft - which obviously wouldn’t call me out of the blue. If it’s something important, they can just leave a message on my voicemail.

Without a doubt, this was a dodgy caller! They inquired about my energy provider, and as soon as I mentioned my address, they abruptly hung up. It’s high time someone put a stop to these scamming nuisance calls!

Yesterday, on the 6th of January, I had the misfortune of receiving two calls from the number mentioned above. During the initial conversation, I enquired about who this 'Gordon' chap was, and he proclaimed himself to be 'your senior energy advisor.' I was completely taken aback, as I had no recollection of ever having requested an energy advisor, which instantly raised my suspicions. I flatly refused to engage further and demanded, ‘Did I request you to ring me?’ To which he sheepishly admitted I had not. With that, I hung up. However, to my dismay, later that evening, I was subjected to yet another call from this 'Gordon.' Infuriated, I firmly instructed him to cease all communication with me immediately!
