Got a call from someone named Jo. She asked for my MD but said his name wrong. When I asked where she was ringing from, she talked so fast it was hard to catch anything. Told her we don’t have anyone by that name here, then said it properly for her. She then said she’d call him on his mobile and hung up suddenly. It’s weird how these fake callers get all annoyed when you question them.

A really unpleasant lady has phoned this number twice in the last six months - both times our receptionist picked up and the caller just said my first name, XXX, without any further explanation. Trying to be helpful, our receptionist asked who was calling, and each time the woman replied "it's private." A person named Jo Pandy or something similar rang me asking for my missus, claiming she’d been given my work number by her. That’s totally not right as she doesn’t even know my work number since I mainly work from home. She wouldn’t say what it was about and just said she’d ring back when my wife was available, then just ended the call suddenly.

Got a call from a posh sounding lady called Jo asking for the MD by his first name. I asked what company she was ringing from and she just said, “I’m Jo from Warrington,” which sounded odd 😂. Wasn’t sure if it was a scam so I checked with my husband (the MD) who was just in the kitchen making tea. He didn’t know anyone named Jo from Warrington so I told her he wasn’t available. Benjamin Dunn rang me trying to speak to someone specific. When I asked which company he was with, he said it was a private call. I told him we run a business and don't accept personal calls. He kept insisting "She’ll take it, she knows me, it’s Benjamin Dunn." I said I was going to report them to the TPS and then they quickly ended the call.

It’s Jo from Warrington once again. I actually find it a bit amusing dealing with her. Today, she tried ringing up asking for our director about some sort of ‘private matter’. Unlike what some have said here, not all receptionists are just being nosey; many of us are actually paid to screen out rubbish calls like Jo’s. She’s never smart enough to hatch a decent lie to get through the screening, nor brave enough to share a company name or put herself out there so everyone can judge if she’s actually legit.

Someone rang and asked for me by name. My wife picked up and asked who was calling, but the lady on the other end just hung up straight away.
