Some woman phoned asking for my husband, I told her he wasn’t around, she claimed she was from Gladstone Brooks, I told her that’s rubbish. She wanted me to jot down a number and tell my husband to call back, I told her this is obviously a scam. She got proper mardy and hung up on me.

Even though I’m signed up to the Telephone Preference Service, I found myself on the receiving end of a call from this number. There was quite a racket in the background, leading me to believe I was talking to a call centre. After a bit of digging online, I discovered that the number is linked to Birchwood, Warrington-a place notorious for having numerous call centres. The person on the line mentioned they were calling regarding something to do with legal matters. When I inquired if it was a cold call, they actually laughed! At that point, I decided to end the conversation.
