5 yearsIt appears to be a South African outfit, rather than an Asian one, which can be a bit tricky to discern at first. This time around, they’re masquerading as representatives of a life insurance review service, steering clear of the debt topics from before. There's definitely more digging to be done here. Interestingly, I suspect that the main individual orchestrating this operation is based in the UK, and it seems they've simply acquired a UK number for call forwarding purposes.UK5 yearsYesterday, I received a rather dubious phone call from a number I later found out to be 01925 479045. My caller ID indicated it was from Warrington, England, but it's clear these rogues have managed to mask their true location with some pretty clever tech. The usual scenario unfolded: a deceitful chap with an Asian accent, masking his identity with an overly friendly Western name, chirpily greeted me with a 'How are you today?' He then proceeded to claim he was representing the 'Financial Conduct Authority', eager to chat about my supposed PPI claims. I wasted no time in unleashing a rapid-fire, rather colourful barrage of expletives, calling him out for the fraudster he is and wishing him a slow, agonising demise (not my finest hour, I admit), before hanging up. Regardless, the cheeky blighter called back repeatedly, about twelve times in a mere five minutes! Eventually, curiosity got the better of me, and when I answered, I was treated to the spectacle of this clearly furious piece of scum. He bombarded me with threats and colourful language - calling me all sorts of names, and claiming he would pay a visit to my home to perform horrendous acts against my family while I watched, before obliterating the place! 🤣🤣 He even had the audacity to inquire if I was 'f***ing ninety something', insinuating I wouldn’t have the gumption to do anything about it! What a delightful character! I truly wish I could have recorded the exchange to share for a good laugh! 🤣🤣WarringtonEnglandFinancial Conduct Authority5 yearsSo I got a call from some bloke called Jason claiming he was with the "Debt Advice Foundation" or something like that.JasonDebt Advice Foundation5 yearsGot another call today, but this one actually spoke. The guy said he was with some call blocking company and was gonna update my settings to stop annoying telemarketing calls. I’ve told these people quite a few times to take my number off their calling list. When I told the guy on the phone to delete my number, he said I never asked him directly before. So I just ended the call. Right after, the same bloke called back and started arguing with me about the whole removing my number thing. Such a hassle!5 yearsGot a missed call from this number today. Looking at the other comments, looks like a good idea to block it straight away. Been getting loads of calls like this over the past week, which is a bit worrying. What company gave them my info? They even seem to know my first name, which is a bit creepy. Not sure what’s going on here.5 yearsGot a call that was completely silent on the other end, felt like they were just checking if the number was active.5 yearsSome bloke called me saying there’s a legal order against me or something, but I told him I have no clue about it. Then he just went and hung up on me. There really ought to be a way to put an end to these scammers!5 yearsI received a phone call from someone who had an Asian accent and spoke English. This individual addressed me by my first name and claimed to be contacting me on behalf of the Citizens Advice Bureau regarding debts linked to loans and credit cards. When I expressed my suspicion and suggested that it might be a scam, the caller suddenly ended the call. This abrupt disconnection certainly gives off strong signals that it was a fraudulent attempt.Citizens Advice Bureau5 yearsA dodgy caller tried to convince me they were from the credit reporting agency.5 yearsI've been inundated with calls from what they claim is Citizens Advice over the past week. When I asked for details about who was calling, they couldn't provide any information. In response, I suggested they could take me to court, and, surprise, they hung up! I've blocked the number, but they just keep ringing me from various others. Honestly, it's best not to engage-just ignore the calls!Citizens AdviceSubmit Your Own Report (01925 479045)
