01924855999 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01924855999 👆 is reported as a number frequently linked to scam calls impersonating banks such as HSBC, First Direct, Vodafone, and Marks & Spencer Bank. Callers often use personal details like full names and partial dates of birth to gain trust, then request sensitive information including addresses, email addresses, or security details. Many reports describe high pressure tactics, refusal to provide clear reasons for calls, and warnings from genuine banks confirming the number’s fraudulent use. While a few users mention legitimate contact related to HSBC complaints or mortgage advisors, the overwhelming consensus is to treat calls from this number with caution, avoid sharing any personal or financial information, and verify independently by contacting the bank directly. Several calls appear to originate from call centres outside the UK.

This person said they're from Sky, started chatting about some problems with my internet connection. They mentioned a discount, then got curious about my Sky app. Afterwards, they wanted my email address. Felt a bit off to me.

They used my full name, middle names an all, and wanted me to verify my DOB and full address. Felt a bit iffy about it so I declined. I asked what they were calling regarding, if it was for something specific. The bloke, who spoke with a strong Asian accent, said he couldn’t carry on without me giving my details. So yeah, I just ended the call.

Someone rang up looking for my missus. I said she wasn’t available right now. The caller claimed to be from M & S Bank and wanted me to get her to ring them later. When I tried to find out why, he just said it was a private issue. Of course, she never got back to them.

A woman called saying she was from First Direct. When I mentioned I didn’t know the number, she replied that it should’ve been a withheld one. I told her no, it’s a Wakefield number. I asked what she was after, and she said she couldn’t continue unless I answered some security questions. I told her I was the one calling her back, so I wasn’t saying anything. Then I just ended the call.

Someone rang me saying they were from HSBC, but I wasn’t too happy chatting over that phone. Told them I’d just ring HSBC direct if there was any problem. The man got a bit insistent, throwing out different numbers at me. In the end, I just told them I’d get the contact details myself and ended the call.

Got a missed call from this number around 8:30 in the morning. When I called back, there was a robotic voice saying something about HSBC and asking me to punch in my sort code and account details. It was obvious a scam to me since banks never ring up asking for personal info like that, and there’s no way you’d get connected to a bank so fast on the phone.

I got a call from HSBC Kinetic’s phone banking but the number was different to the usual 0345 one. It was 5873529 or something like that, definitely linked to HSBC Kinetic. When I asked more questions, they told me to call the main 0345 line instead.

On 2nd July 2021 around 4.20pm, I rang HSBC’s main line (03457 606060) after getting a letter about an important email they claimed had bounced back. I passed their security checks and asked them to call me back. Later that day at 5.23pm, I got a call from 01924 855999 which my phone flagged as "possible spam". Wanting to be certain it was really HSBC, I cautiously confirmed a few bits without giving too much away, just to check if they had my old email address correct before sharing my current one.
