Got a call from Paul at First Direct about some "personal business matter". Not quite sure what he meant by that.

They keep ringing me non stop. When I try to call back, it just plays a recorded voice saying "Please redial." so annoying.

Just had a call from someone supposedly at HSBC, but the number showed as Wakefield postcode. They tried to trick me into giving my personal details by asking me to answer my security questions. Be careful and never share your info with callers like this!

Got a call from John Lewis Security about some "suspicious" activity on my card. Tried paying twice but both times it got declined. Like usual, John Lewis was on top of things. I rang the number they gave me and spoke to their Security team - so this one definitely wasn’t a scam.

HSBC scam - it’s legit. I didn’t pick up when they rang but I phoned my bank’s main line and they told me they’d actually called about a dodgy transaction on my account.

Some bloke named Shah from the Indian sub-continent or South Asia gave me a ring. He was rushing me through security questions all sloppy and unprofessional, which made me instantly suspicious. I asked to speak to a supervisor but he just talked over me, telling me to ring JLP myself. I never bothered, and my card’s all fine so far. Reading the other comments, seems like I got a call from a scammer who’s somehow spoofing an HSBC or JLP number.

I had a rather unsavoury encounter with a gentleman named Shah, who hails from the Indian subcontinent. He was meant to guide me through some security queries but came across as rushed and rather careless, which set off my alarm bells straight away. I asked to speak with his supervisor, but he simply drowned me out and insisted that I should reach out to JLP myself. I haven’t done so yet and up until now, I've encountered no issues with my card. Based on what others have shared, it seems I was indeed contacted by a scammer who’s managed to cleverly impersonate an HSBC or JLP number.

Got a call from a guy named Paul claiming to be from HSBC security. He said he'd ask me some security questions and that I should finish them. I told him I'd rather ring my bank directly. When I did, HSBC told me they hadn't rung me at all! Tried ringing that number again, but all I got was a message saying to "redial". Pretty sure it's a scam.

Had a call from John Lewis credit card security about a purchase I tried to make online. The person was really polite and helpful, and I was actually waiting for their call after my transaction got declined. Gotta say, their fraud team is brilliant and I always feel safe with their security checks.

Yeah, it was definitely John Lewis ringing to verify a payment on my Partnersup card. It felt a bit suspicious at first, so I rang back using the number on the back of my card (0345 300 3833), and everything was legit. Would be better if they used a proper, well-known number to call from though.

Got a call from someone claiming to be John Lewis security wanting info - voice was so muffled I could barely make out what they were saying. They said they’d call back on a different number but never did. The whole thing felt really unprofessional cos the questions about my credit card made no sense. Didn’t seem sketchy, just really shoddy. I checked with John Lewis myself who said yes, their security do make calls like that but apparently loads of people don’t trust these calls as they sound so dodgy!

I got a call from someone named Liz claiming to be from HSBC, left a message and a number to call back. When I dialled the number, someone picked up but didn’t say who they were. I told them I’d get in touch with the bank myself. Then I phoned HSBC and found out my phone banking’s been blocked for some reason. Now I have to visit a branch to fix this.

As soon as I picked up, they just cut the call. Based on what others have mentioned, it seems like it could be the HSBC fraud team since we've had some recent dealings, but no idea why they didn’t say anything.

Got a call from HSBC, this guy said he needed my bank security info, but I said no way. He was an Indian bloke called Mark and said he'd send me something in the post soon. Seems fishy to me, definitely a scam. No chance I’m falling for that.
