Got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft. I told them I don't own a computer and they just ended the call straight away. I've dealt with these calls before and if you even start asking questions, they get really pushy and start shouting at you on the phone.

This is probably one of the oldest internet scams out there, been doing the rounds for ages. I’d have thought by now everyone would know about this classic trick trying to plant malware on your PC and nick money from your bank. I’ve already flagged it with the cyber crime unit here in the UK.

When I answered, there was no one there. I recognise the number though, I’ve had calls from them before claiming to be from Microsoft - definitely a scam.

I received a call from this number on the 17th of January, but when I picked up, there was no response. I’m keen to track down who these folks are.

I ignored the call since the number was unfamiliar. Seeing all the reviews on this site about it, I’m pleased I didn’t pick up. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve had nearly a dozen calls from what people say are supposed to be Microsoft scammers. They dialled from numbers that looked quite alike, often ringing me multiple times in one day. From what I found out, if you get a call claiming to be Microsoft, just hang up straight away because Microsoft themselves say they do not reach out to customers by phone like that.

Just had a rather intrusive call from an Asian chap at 7 in the morning, claiming he was with Microsoft. I wasn't in the mood for his sales pitch, especially since I’ve been awake since five! I really should’ve given him a piece of my mind instead of being civil. Clearly, it was a scam; I wish I’d been a bit more forthright!

I had a missed call from an unknown number, so I decided to ring it back. As soon as I did, all I got was that old dial-up noise, which made me think it’s probably some sort of scam.

I received a rather dubious phone call from a female who had an Asian accent, claiming to be from Microsoft. Once I started probing for more details and refused to divulge any of my information, she suddenly passed me over to a male colleague who sounded strikingly similar. The chap became overly animated when he realised that I wasn’t falling for their tricks; he even got somewhat aggressive in his attempts to intimidate me. The crux of their pitch was that, according to them, Microsoft had uncovered a Trojan infiltrating my system and supposedly compromising my personal data.
