I got two calls from this number today. The first I ignored because I didn’t know who it was. When they called again, I picked up but there was all this background chatter, like a call centre, and a weird delay, so I just ended the call straight away.

A woman called and asked if I was Brian Rawlinson, which I’m not. I quickly cut her off and demanded to know who she was. Initially, she said she was with HMRC and that I owed money from a PPI claim. I told her I never made any claim like that. I called her out for lying, and then she switched, saying she worked for some other company. I didn’t share a single detail with her. Just wasted her time instead. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Got a call about life insurance, and when I told the guy to remove me from their list, the bloke, who sounded Asian, just insulted me with some awful name, so I hung up straight away. Then he rang me back and started shouting at me, full of rude words. After that, another guy grabbed the phone and started swearing right back at him.

Got a call from a guy calling himself Jacob at about 12:01pm on 17th January 2022. He said he was doing a survey for Avviva. When I asked him which policy he was referring to - car, life, or home - he gave me a random number that didn’t seem right. I mentioned that his voice sounded like he was in some call centre, definitely not Walsall. Then he suddenly said my line was unclear and just cut off. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a phone call from this number claiming to be from HMRC, saying I was owed a refund for some old PPI stuff. Received a rather peculiar call from an Asian-based call centre today. They were going on about claiming a tax refund from HMRC for an overpayment made on my behalf. I received a rather dubious phone call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, insisting that they were going to issue a refund for tax that I supposedly overpaid.
