I picked up and said hello, but after a bit I told them I couldn’t hear anything, and then they just hung up before I could say more.

Someone rang me saying they were from an energy saving firm. When they asked me to verify my name, I said no and they just ended the call straight away.

So, it turns out these calls come through a firm called Jaintel, kinda like having a PO Box for phone calls so the actual origin is hidden. Loads of different businesses use their service to make calls, often for cold calling or spam. That’s why the location details seem all over the place. I try blocking the numbers, but it doesnt really help because another company just uses the same setup and rings again. It’s proper frustrating, no doubt about it.
