I received a call the other day from someone purporting to be with the National Lottery. They were offering me free tickets in exchange for signing up for a monthly fee of £55, supposedly to boost my odds of winning. When I declined, the caller suddenly switched gears and offered a reduced rate. However, after I turned that down too, his attitude soured pretty quickly, and he eventually just hung up on me. Quite the experience, I must say!
