For an entire month, this bloke rang me daily, and I finally picked up the phone today. He introduced himself as Mark from HMRC, claiming there was some criminal nonsense involving my identity and National Insurance number. He mentioned that, astonishingly, I had 19 bank accounts under my name! Then he pressed me for details about my bank and how much dosh I had. When I told him I don't use online banking, he insisted I drop everything, rush to a cash machine, and share my balance with him. I flat out refused, and then he just hung up. How dodgy is that?

Just got a call about my national insurance, sounded like a total scam to me.

Got a call from this number at 10.14am today. The bloke on the other end had a really thick accent and was kinda mumbling, made it hard to understand who it was. I asked a few times who they were, and they claimed to be from my internet provider. I just told them straight up “That’s not true!” and ended the call. I know my provider wouldn’t just ring out of nowhere like that. I reckon this number has tried me before, so I’ll be keeping an eye out. Such a pain!

Received a recorded message accompanied by a case ID, requesting that I press 1 if I wish to speak with an advisor.

I received a rather alarming voicemail that warned me to heed this “information,” or I might find myself facing the magistrates. How delightful! Curiously, there was no mention of the company involved, but they did suggest pressing 1 to find out more about this supposed case...

Got a call from 0191820008 saying someone was attempting to buy something for £900 using my visa card. Ha! That's not happening since I don't even own a visa card. Good luck with that one!

I received a phone call from a gentleman with a noticeable Asian accent, introducing himself as Mark Henry and claiming to represent BT. He insisted that my WiFi service needed to be disabled due to a supposed security breach. As I probed for further details, he became quite flustered and defensive. It was clear that it was an absolutely shoddy attempt at a scam phone call.

On the 5th of August, 2021, at around 11:45 in the morning, I received a dodgy call that seemed to be fishing for personal details. Quite shady, if you ask me!

There was no one talking, just breathing I could hear! Background noise seemed like a big busy office or maybe a hall with people. Then the call just dropped.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Amazon, claiming they're taking £1500 out of my account for some order I never made. Yeah right, as if that’s happening. And definitely don’t press any buttons to talk to an advisor - they’ll just rip you off big time. Total scam!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Virgin. I told the guy I’m not one of their customers. He started swearing and even threatened to disconnect my phone. When I asked to talk to his supervisor, he just kept using the same rude language.

I had a rather odd phone call this afternoon from a gentleman with an Indian accent, who was struggling quite a bit with his English. He claimed that my Virgin Media broadband was under attack. I straightaway recognised it as a dodgy scam and decided there was no point in continuing the conversation, so I hung up.
