I spoke with three different people, all from an Indian team, who asked about my mobile contract and tried to tempt me with a discount on a monthly charge I just guessed, plus a free phone as if I was being overcharged. When they asked for my name, I gave them a fake one, and they didn’t even bat an eye - which was a clear sign these were scammers. Watch out for calls coming from a number in Tyneside.

Got a call earlier saying they were from D & G, offering a free extension on my washing machine warranty. The lady wanted to pass me over to her manager to sort out some details. I quickly told her to shove it and hung up. Later, I phoned the number back and discovered it actually belonged to a firm called GPS.
