I got a call where they claimed to be from Sky, saying they had a special discount for me. Then, they emailed me what looked like an official Sky message and passed me onto a manager who said I was entitled to some compensation and even a free iPhone. Turns out, it was all fake. They ended up signing me up for stuff in my name and now it’s wrecked my credit. Total scam, watch out!

Yesterday morning, I got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from Virgin Media. She said our internet was being hacked and offered to help me fix it. At first, I was a bit gullible and worried it could be legit, so I played along. Then she handed me over to another person who promised a £204 refund and a free router upgrade - that’s when my alarm bells started ringing. He asked me to log into my online bank account to check for the refund, which I refused. He then threatened to cut off our internet, but I told him he had no power to do that. My husband stepped in, called it out as a scam and he instantly hung up. We got in touch with our IT guy who confirmed it was definitely a con. He checked our system remotely and luckily found no vulnerabilities. Since then, we’ve had a couple more calls from 01264319902, even though our number isn’t listed anywhere. It’s terrifying how believable they sound, so watch out all. I shudder to think what might’ve happened if I’d actually logged into my bank during the call! 😩😠

I've set up an answering service on my mobile. When an unfamiliar number reaches out, I simply allow it to be sent to voicemail. Genuine callers often leave a message, while those who don’t? Someone rang up pretending to be from Virgin Media. They managed to persuade my elderly mum to install some kind of screening app, saying they were fixing her internet. After that, they started offering her money and asked her to look at her bank balance. She checked it on a different gadget and told them nothing had appeared. Then they asked how she was sure and wanted her to hold her phone over her banking app as proof. That’s when she just ended the call. I've no clue who was ringing me just now. I chose not to answer, and they didn't bother leaving a voicemail either.

Got a call from this number 01918149764, a lady saying she was with Virgin Media and there was a problem with my broadband. I told her the engineer’s already fixing the line in the box across from my house and asked if she needed to speak to him. She just ended the call straight away. Bit odd if you ask me.

Got a call from a guy, said he was from Microsoft or something. Looked like a sketchy Asian bloke to me. He kept going on about problems with my computer - yeah right! Total scam, trying to trick you into letting them put Teamviewer on your machine. Honestly, just hang up and block them, no point in wasting time chatting with these frauds. They really should find real work instead of bothering people like this.

My home phone rang and the person on the other end had a weird foreign accent. They claimed there was an issue with my phone line and said they'd send me a link by email. When I asked for my email, they couldn’t say it, which they definitely should if they were with my provider. This is a total con, don’t get caught out!

I got a call from someone saying they were "BT Technical". The woman had an Indian accent and there were kids playing in the background. She asked me to log into my computer. I could hear what sounded like a bunch of scripts being flipped through.

At 7.50 this morning my landline started ringing and woke me up. I usually keep my mobile by my bed but the old landline is down in the lounge. So I got up and checked the number, pretty sure it's a scam call. Now the same number is blowing up my phone again as I write this! These scam callers are doing my head in, it's just endless hassle.

The phone didn't even ring because the person calling never said who they were or what they wanted, so Call Guardian just blocked it. If they’re legit, they really should just say their name.

Got a call from some Indian call centre bloke saying my network was being accessed by outside IPs and asked for my BT 2FA login pin. I was like, no way. Then suddenly he switched to talking Hindi with someone in the background. I asked him what the hell was going on and he got proper irritable. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, saying my internet wasn't private but public. She asked me to switch on my computer so she could check it. I told her if she was legit, she should just send me an email from BT. The whole time she kept calling me 'mamm' and had a really American sounding accent - definitely a scam.

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying he was from BT, but when I asked for a proper contact number, he just made one up. As soon as I called him out for being a scammer, the idiot went off swearing like a sailor - honestly, it was so nasty I won’t even bother repeating it.

Got a call from this number today at 8:22 in the morning, 4/11/22. After seeing what others have said, it’s clear this is just some scam. If whoever’s behind this happens to be reading these comments, here’s a suggestion: Seriously, find a proper job and quit ringing people every few seconds, it’s well annoying!!!
