This guy with an American accent called asking if I was on painkillers and if the government provided them. I said yes, but when I tried to get the name of the company, they just ended the call.

Earlier this week, precisely at 6:25 PM on Tuesday, 26th September, a lady rang my mobile. She inquired whether I had ever been involved in an accident that wasn’t my fault. I explained my situation-pointing out that I suffer from epilepsy and don't drive-yet she launched into an automated-script mode, rephrasing her question as if it hadn’t quite clicked the first time. Despite my consistent response, she persisted. Eventually, I had to be rather blunt, warning her that if she continued to disregard my answers, I would sever the call. She then acknowledged my frustration and abruptly said, “Right, cheers, goodbye.” Notably, she did not bother to introduce herself; she merely dived straight into her call centre spiel. Have any of you dealt with this number as well? I attempted to return her call, but unsurprisingly, it was a one-way line, so I didn't have the option to ring her back.

It showed as Tyneside when I got the call, but as usual, if I don’t know the number, I let it go to voicemail. Checked it out and like loads of others have said, there was no message, just silence then it ended. I’ve blocked and deleted the number now. From what I’ve seen with 0191 numbers, loads of foreign places can get euro codes to make it look genuine so people pick up, but lots of these are actually premium rate scams. Best to let unknown numbers go to voicemail; if it’s important or legit, they’ll leave a message or the number can be tracked to a proper company.

Proper rude scammers ringing me up pretending to be from the benefits office, talking about some life insurance I supposedly have - which I dont! Told the bloke to cut the nonsense, and he says I’m the one wasting his time! When I said I was recording and would report him, he got all nasty and threatened to spam my phone 200 times. Got a call from a lady who spoke English, she mentioned a company but I couldn’t quite hear the name. She then said she was told I’d been in an accident. I asked her again for the company name and she wanted me to say if it was true about the accident. I asked her once more what company she was from, then she just hung up on me.
