Honestly, these days I just don’t pick up if I don’t know the number - there’s way too many dodgy calls about, even more than from people I actually know. Best to use something that shows you who’s calling before you decide to answer.

No sound at all when I picked up the phone.

That caller was seriously impolite.

Got a call but no message left. Figured it might be a mate so I called back, but all I got was music playing. Weird!

I had a rather unpleasant encounter with a rather cheeky young lad on the other end of the line. I informed him that we’re on the Telephone Preference Service list and have been inundated with calls from their lot, requesting them to cease this nuisance. To my surprise, he had the audacity to question why I bothered answering the phone in the first place and rather flippantly suggested that I should just unplug it if I wasn't keen on receiving such calls! It’s astonishing, really.

I told the guy from eco2, who was rathar pushy and kept calling, that I’m already on the TPS list. He was quite rude and even told me to just cut the phone off and not pick up! Proper cheeky behaviour.

Regarding the free boiler situation, when I mentioned that I was aware you need to be receiving benefits, the response was rather blunt, suggesting I should find someone who does. I told them that we’ve always put in a solid effort throughout our lives. Their reply? They seemed to think I was embellishing the truth! How on earth can we stop receiving these relentless calls about boilers?

They kept bombarding me with loads of questions. I told them I wasn't looking to get a new boiler and then just ended the call.

Hi there, it’s Frank! 😊 Give it a cheeky Google search when you have a moment. The name you’re after is ECO2T. Hope you have a splendid day ahead!

I recently received a cold call from this number and they even left a message on my answering machine. Turns out it was a chap named Frank Thomas from the Government Eco Scheme... Honestly, as if I’d buy that! Just clear off, Frank!

A guy rang asking if I was Mr ----, and I said yeah, that’s me. Then he started asking if I was still receiving pension credits for “that property.” I wasn’t sure what he was on about, so I asked for clarification and he just hung up on me. Pretty sure I ended up giving away my surname without realising it.

Got a call from 01916740232 but no message was left, just some weird music playing. Pretty sure it’s just some kind of scam.

I swear, they just won't quit! I’ve had three calls from them today alone. It's weird though because I'm on the TPS list, yet I'm still getting flooded with calls from all sorts of different numbers. Something's definitely up.

I’m really pleased they gave me a bell! I was in the market for a new boiler but was utterly clueless about how to navigate the process. Their service was absolutely brilliant!

I answered the call and was met with nothing but some tunes in the background. Not a single word was exchanged! How infuriating! 😑

I’m listed on the TPS registry. When I picked up the phone, there was a lot of commotion and chatter typical of a call centre in the background, and then they abruptly disconnected the call. I’ve gone ahead and reported this to the Information Commissioner’s Office: https://ico.org.uk/concerns/nuisance-calls-and-messages/

Picked up the call and stuck the phone right in front of the telly, cranked up the volume to the max! That ought to work wonders!

I picked up the phone but no one said anything. I could hear loads of noise and some music playing in the background. Definitely felt like one of those scam calls.

I picked up and all I could hear was loads of noise like a call centre. Looks dodgy, might be scammers or something.

I received a call where they requested to speak with someone specific. They had the wrong first name but did mention our last name, which raised my suspicions. I informed them that there was no one by that name available and promptly ended the call. After doing a quick search on the number, I found out it was indeed a pesky scam call. Quite reassuring to have that clarified!

Received an unsolicited call regarding boilers. They were quite insistent even after I clearly stated my lack of interest, attempting to engage me in conversation. Eventually, I had to cut them off. It was incredibly vexing!

i didnt pick up so i called them back thinking it was someone i knew. but then there was just hold music so i figured it was probably some call centre.

This number keeps ringing my home phone almost daily, and just this morning, they tried again. I refuse to pick up the call. Despite being registered with the telephone preference service, it seems to have no effect whatsoever. I always use call screening, but if I have to race down from upstairs, it can become quite a bother!

The number shows up as from the Tyneside area, but I just get some strange foreign voices and music in the background. Feels dodgy, so watch out, might be one of those scams.

I really wish these callers would leave me alone! It would be brilliant if they could be penalised for their incessant harassment.

These folks never utter a word! It baffles me why they persistently ring up. Perhaps it's a tactic to ensure their supervisors can see the logs showing calls made, as an excuse for their apparent lack of interest? I really do wish they'd just knock it off!

They pretend to be from nearby by using your own code, trying to trick you into thinking it’s a local call!

Annoying phone call - my number was dialled, yet there was silence on the other end. I could make out someone chattering away in the background, presumably on a different call.

Got two calls from the same number less than half an hour apart. Picked up the first time and the person asked if I was mr or mrs ##is####_. I asked who was calling, they said Adam with something about a government thing. Before he could carry on, I just said no and hung up. The second call I saw the number and didn’t pick up, just let it go to answerphone. Could hear a call centre noise and a woman chatting to the guy, who I think was the same Adam from before.

Honestly, why can't they just take a hint? I've never had a chat with them and frankly have no plans to. Whenever that number pops up, I just let it slide, but it’s really beginning to grate on my nerves!

I can confirm this is a genuine firm; I took the liberty of verifying it through Companies House myself after they reached out to me.

I can confirm that this is a bona fide organisation, as they’re properly listed with Companies House, which anyone can look into for verification. Furthermore, their calls concerning the Government's ECO Scheme are readily available for investigation online, and they clearly operate within the approved guidelines of UK Government Funding. The details regarding the Government ECO Scheme are out there on the web, so if you receive a call from HG Communications, do take a moment to look into the Scheme. If you’re receiving benefits, it makes sense to engage with what they’re offering - it might just help you cut down on your expenses.

About an hour back, I received a call from a chap inquiring whether I was using gas, claiming to represent some company - the name was a bit of a garble, to be honest. When I replied that I wasn't using gas, he mentioned his firm could supply it or something along those lines. As soon as I caught wind of what he was on about, I politely declined, saying 'No, thank you' before hanging up. Honestly, I do hope someone - be it divine intervention or some magical sprites - can rid us of these bothersome, irritating callers.

Today, I received a call from 01916740232 regarding eco boilers. Naturally, I inquired how they managed to get hold of my number, considering we're registered on the Telephone Preference Service. The response I got was rather bewildering - apparently, our number is included on some sort of shared database. Quite mysterious, if you ask me!

Received a call from a firm that goes by HG Communications, apparently linked to some government eco funding initiative. They mentioned collaborating with the DWP, suggesting that since I’m on tax credits, I’d be eligible for a complimentary replacement of all my storage heaters. I had a chat with someone named Marika, who was quite forward and even shared the manager's email: [email protected]. However, they don’t seem to have a proper website yet and have only been in operation for about six months.
Does anyone know if this is on the level?
