people calling me names and using racist language towards me, really upsetting!

I looked up this number on the EE site and it shows up as one of their official partners. So I’m pretty sure it’s not a scam.

Someone called me saying they were from EE, but I was a bit iffy about it, so I decided to call EE’s customer support myself and they told me it was legit, one of their partners.

Got a couple of missed calls from this number so thought i'd ring back to see who it was. Chatted with a really nice person who told me they were ringing about some extra products and offers. I ended up buying an iPad for my daughter, got a really good deal and no delivery charges either. A few days later, I checked with EE to make sure the iPad was added to my account and they said it was all sorted. Proper chuffed!

Got a call from 0191 674 0052, and the guy said no one else in my family uses EE except me, asking why. I told him it’s none of his business whether anyone else in my family has EE or not. Then he said all calls are recorded. I reckon he got a bit annoyed when I said this info isn’t for him or EE to know. I also told him if it’s a sales or feedback call, I’m really busy right now, and someone’s been ringing me nonstop from this number for the past 4 days! He said sorry and promised to call back later. Feels like some April Fools joke from EE. Blocked the number.

01916 740052 is defo linked to EE. Seems like they’ve got someone else ringing up to push sim deals for them. I called EE myself on my mobile and they confirmed that number belongs to one of their associates. It checks out cos I got a deal for my partner from them - unlimited calls, texts plus 20GB of 4G all for just £16. Proper good deal that.

Got a call out of the blue from them around 16:05. From what I've read in comments here, they don't seem to be a genuine third-party company working with EE, even though they say they are.

I seem to be inundated with calls from this particular number on a daily basis, and at all hours too. I've come across numerous accounts suggesting it's a scam operation, masquerading as various companies like EE among others! They ultimately request personal details and are particularly interested in banking information. Please, whatever you do, don’t divulge any of your banking details!

Ive looked at the EE site and that number 01916740052 aint on their list so its probably not an official EE partner.

I got a call today where they asked for my phone password. Seemed really fishy to me!

They said they were from EE, sounded a bit fishy so I decided to play along. When they asked for my EE password, I gave them a made-up one and, weirdly, they somehow knew it wasn’t the right one. Proper odd!

Looked up this number on Google and it pulls up a Twitter thread where this lady told EE about calls from it. EE said the number isn’t theirs at all. Best to block and report it. Sounds like dodgy telemarketers just fishing for your info.

This number has been blowing my phone off all day. It called me 3 times straight when I was at work, then twice back to back this morning. And now, while I'm writing this, they're ringing yet again! That's like 6 calls in under a day!

They said they were from EE and began asking me to verify a load of info, which I refused. Then they went on about offering me loads of free stuff for being a loyal customer. It’s ridiculous that companies like this can get away with it. This number ought to be blocked or barred.

Got a call from 01844945642 on 19th October 2016 around 11:40 in the morning about a PPI Claim. When I asked where they got my number from, she just replied with some swear words and then hung up straight away.

I rang them back and it turned out to be EE about switching my contract to a cheaper plan and some deals. Told them I was a bit tied up at the moment and he said he’d make a note that I’d returned the call so I wouldn’t be pestered again, but the offers would stay on their system if I was interested, and to ring the main EE number if I wanted to go for any of them. Felt quite legit to me.

They phoned me a couple of times today, and I picked up on the second ring after checking the number here. Turns out it's a legit EE Partner, just wanting to chat about my EE contract and see if I'm happy with it. They did try to pitch some extra 4G stuff, but I made it clear I wasn't interested. The woman on the phone was really polite and friendly, gave me loads of useful info about my contract and what I could do when it finishes. It's your call if you want to answer, but at least you know who’s on the other end.

This number looks like it’s actually from an EE partner (Inspire), but when I challenged the lady about why she kept pestering me, she got really rude, telling me to google the EE phone checker and started behaving quite aggressively. It was pretty unprofessional, too, with shouting and loud noises in the background. She claimed she was calling to promote 4G products, so I quickly told her not to ring again and ended the call.

For all of you leaving comments like "got a call from this number, didn’t know who it was so I just blocked it" - how does that actually help anyone? Seriously, use your brains. If you’re not gonna share anything useful, just don’t bother posting. This number is definitely a scam - The caller said he was from Santander, knew my name and was getting ready to ask me some questions, but I cut him off with a big "sod off" and hung up, lol. Here’s what I found on Santander's official site: Never give out your security info like your card PIN, One Time Passcodes (OTP), or any security numbers (like your Online or Mobile Banking login), and don’t let anyone remotely access your computer or take your card. This information is strictly for you and should never be shared, not even with Santander themselves.

I received a call from a woman purporting to be from EE. Initially, she seemed quite sincere and even addressed me by my first name. However, I quickly realised something was off, especially when I fed her a false surname. Things took a turn when she kept probing for more information. They were fishing for my date of birth, address, payment details, and all sorts of information that could easily be misused to impersonate me or compromise my identity. It’s alarming how they try to piece together personal data. I urge everyone to be cautious-if you get a call from this number, I'd recommend blocking it instead of answering. I'll be reporting this incident and the number to EE, as it's clearly a dodgy operation. Take care, everyone-don’t fall for it! - caller: 01916740052

If you get a call from an unknown number that only rings once and then stops, it's probably best not to pick up. That quick hang-up is a classic giveaway that it’s a cold call. Your answerphone won’t even have a chance to kick in, which I find is a dead give-away it’s not a genuine caller.

So, this company is apparently a marketing firm from Newcastle saying they’re phoning for EE. EE themselves have confirmed it in a few tweets. If you want to stop getting calls from them, you’re meant to call the same number and press option 1. I gave it a go, but ended up waiting around 10 minutes being told I was "number 1 in the queue" and then just gave up without ever talking to anyone. They seem legit, but honestly, it’s a pretty frustrating and clumsy setup.

I tried to be polite and just said no to their proposals. To be honest, I was a little wary since my EE contract clearly says they shouldn’t pass on my details to anyone else... Blimey, it’s actually EE! I had a right muddle with two fast-talking sales agents; it left me utterly confused. I flunked the security check-turns out EE had some incorrect details. They kept fiddling with the monthly fee; it began at £8, then suddenly leapt to £15-completely baffled! To top it all off, they mentioned sending me a tablet, then insisted it was my job to sort it out. Truly dreadful experience! - Caller: EE

These days, it's become really tricky to know if a call's genuine or from a scammer, especially since they can copy the numbers of real companies so easily. Now, I just ignore any calls that come from numbers I don't know.
