I received a rather affable Geordie on the other end of my unlisted BT line, who promptly called me by name. Just as they were about to divulge what sounded like fantastic offers, I nearly spilled my address and postcode, being encouraged with compliments on my long-standing loyalty. Thankfully, my wife, sensing something amiss, urged me to disconnect! If it had truly been BT, there would’ve been no need for such personal information.
