A few weeks back, I began receiving messages from this company, which I initially dismissed since I have a simple mobile with no internet capabilities-yet they kept mentioning a website. By the time they sent me the third message, I noticed a charge of £4.50 had mysteriously appeared on my bill for just that single text. Then, on the 21st of March, I received another text notifying me that I was now subscribed and would incur a weekly charge of £4.50 unless I messaged STOP. They even provided a landline number and the name Crowtel. I've spent the day trying to get through, but all I get are answerphones. I've requested a callback, but no joy. My mobile provider has now put a premium text block in place to prevent them from snatching any more cash. I managed to track down their address by entering their text number, 84508, into the PhonepayPlus checker. I’m planning to write to demand a refund. They recommend attempting to sort it out yourself before escalating it to them, so that’s what I’ll do.

I've noticed some strange charges on my bill for the past four months from this number I’ve never even contacted. It seems to call me weekly, yet I haven’t received a single call from them nor have I ever made a call myself. To my astonishment, I've been billed over £100! I've sent a "STOP" text to these numbers in the hopes of halting this nonsense, but I’m really after a refund! I’ve tried reaching out to them to clarify the situation and to request proof of any calls made on my part, yet they’re completely unresponsive. Moreover, my attempts to glean any information about this number on Google have been fruitless. My mobile provider, along with the tech team at Carphone Warehouse, to whom I pay for insurance, hasn’t been of any assistance either. I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by this and I’m seriously considering reporting it to the authorities!
