Got a call from a number that showed up as EE, which made me think it was legit. The bloke on the other end knew my name, but that was about it. I reckon he was trying to push some TV extras on me or something. Felt a bit dodgy, so I told him I wasn’t interested. Then he sent me a message with his email. That’s when I decided to google the number. Honestly, I’ve been pretty good at spotting dodgy calls before, but this one nearly got me. Watch out, this one seems proper convincing!

A caller said they were from EE and told me I’d been upgraded, wanted to have a quick chat about it. They asked me to confirm my full name, but I said no. Then they said they'd email me the details, asked if I’d like to give my email, I declined. They said they’d text me instead, but nothing so far. Feels dodgy to me, like a scam. I’ve reported it to Ofcom through their 7726 spam number.

They rang me about half a dozen times before I picked up. The bloke said he was from EE and wanted me to confirm my name, but I told him he already had it. When I asked why calls from EE show up as spam on my EE phone, his answer was pretty dodgy. I told him I was a bit wary, then he said he'd send a text, but then quickly changed it to saying he had to jump into a meeting and would call back in an hour. EE - Extra Services Sales Rep Fairly genuine as he used the real EE No Reply short code and properly pointed me to specific departments (with phone numbers I checked online to confirm) when I asked about various offers and deals. The call centre they work for runs on shift patterns for about 20 hours a week, and they don’t seem to ask much in terms of qualifications before hiring. So, you get quite a bit of unprofessional behaviour on these calls, which is annoying but not surprising.

Got a call from this number but it showed up on my phone like it was from a local Indian takeaway here in Sunderland, did a bit of research on this site, turns out it’s a scam so I blocked it straight away.

So why does my phone pop up with ‘Suspected Spam’ for this? If it was genuine, it’d say safe, right? I never answer unless I actually know the person calling anyway!

This is an honest call from someone working with EE. Even if they’re calling you, they’re not allowed to share any personal info, so they need to confirm your name and send a one-time pin. It’s all about data protection, folks, maybe read up on it.

Got two calls from this number over the last few days and they rang again just now. They said they were from Industrial Office and wanted me to confirm my name and where I used to work. When I told 'Mark' to take me off their list, he snapped back with "don’t boss me around, mate" then started bragging about how much older he is than me and how tough he is. You could tell straight away it was some dodgy call centre abroad. Definitely a scam, stay clear!

I got two calls from this number so I answered. The bloke said he was from EE and wanted me to confirm my name. I pointed out that if he’s phoning me, he must already have it. He agreed, then just thanked me and ended the call. Pretty odd really. I hardly ever pick up calls from unknown numbers and I’m definitely not one to share personal info on the phone.

He asked me to verify a 6 digit code that popped up from the usual 150 EE text number, rather than asking the usual security questions we agreed on. I got a bit uneasy thinking it might be some sort of unlock code for my account, so I didn’t share it and just hung up.

Got a call from this number earlier and the person on the other end knew my name but kept laughing so much, she couldn’t even say where she was calling from or why. She then said she had to hang up (probably couldn’t stop herself laughing) - I didn't really get a chance to say anything. Quite a weird call. If this is actually EE or one of their colleagues, I wouldn’t be keen to deal with someone so unprofessional. They claimed to be from the EE support team and asked me for my full name to verify who I was, plus some characters from my password. I couldn't recall them, so they sent a 6-digit code in a text to confirm, and it really did appear in the same thread as my usual billing alerts. They then tried to add stuff to my account like a tablet and smartwatch. I wasn’t really keen on buying anything, but if I had been, I’d probably have used the app or phoned hard because it all felt a bit dodgy.

Off I go to the local high street to visit the shop. I'll be sure to have my physical ID on hand. Honestly, I’m completely done with those incessant phone calls from the EE representatives or those dodgy scam operators trying to pester me into an upgrade. If it’s a scam, they’ve somehow got hold of my address, age, and even my bank info! What baffles me is that the majority of these calls seem to come from an international number, more often than not, from Kolkata in India. Quite suspicious, wouldn't you say?

Its the EE sales crew calling out, ive worked with EE before so yeah its legit when they ask for your name and parts of your password. The call usually comes from Sunderland since EE have a call centre over at Doxford Park there.

Received a call on a Friday evening-rather suspicious, if you ask me. This person had my name and insisted they were from EE, claiming to have some exciting offers just for me. Part 2 Got a message yesterday from a mobile number saying I'd get a call from EE. The call came through and the person confirmed the 01915946541 number belongs to a third party contacting customers for them. He said sorry for the pushy caller before and mentioned they're investigating it. I changed my marketing settings so I wouldn’t get any more calls, and he gave me some really handy info on sites I can use to report spam emails and phone numbers. I seriously suggest filing a complaint on the EE website. They responded really quick to me.

Caller sounded totally out of breath and asked me about the colour of my trousers and if I was into "Big ones". Weirdly, I do like 'em and my trousers are white with a kind of yellowish mark on them. The moment I said that, the caller acted like they just got somewhere and then ended the call. Bit disappointing really, I was hoping they'd ask if I'd been involved in a car crash lately.

Some bloke called Connor saying he was from EE. I checked with EE straight away via live chat and turns out, that mobile number was flagged as possibly a scam. I ended the call quickly and told him I’d ring back. I’m gonna call EE myself from their official number to find out for sure who it was. Don’t take any chances. Always ring EE on a verified number. This is the second dodgy call I’ve had today. Stay sharp!
