I received a rather persistent call from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, supposedly representing Vodafone. I informed them that I couldn’t chat at the moment, yet they insisted on ringing me again later today. Out of curiosity, I rang Vodafone directly to verify their claims, and much to my surprise, they hadn’t initiated any calls to me at all, nor are they in the habit of providing upgrades or lower tariffs through a third party. Even if it genuinely was Carphone Warehouse, their dodgy tactics and dishonesty have left me with no doubt that this is a scam.

Received a call from someone claiming to represent Carphone Warehouse, supposedly on Vodafone's behalf. Really sceptical about that! They mentioned that I was forking out too much cash, and my contract was nearly up, but then they wanted to know what phone I was using and how much my bill was. Not a chance, my friend! I’ll just have a word with Vodafone directly.

They said they were from Carphone Warehouse about an upgrade, but my phone isn't even with them. Told them it was all rubbish and he just went along with it. Total con job, don’t trust it.
