I was thinking about getting a car and found one on Carwow. The emails and phone number looked legit, and all the pictures and details matched what I found online. But luckily I decided to call Carwow themselves first and found out it was actually a scam. They’re really good at making it seem real, so watch out!

i got a phone call from a guy who sounded like he was from some indian call centre, saying he was from openreach. the first bloke, called jeff, said there was a problem with my internet speed and they could fix it. then he handed me over to his manager, kevin parker, who asked if he could access my computer remotely. i said i was a bit tied up and would ring back later. the whole thing gave me bad vibes, and looks like i'm not the only one judging by the other reviews here.

Got a call from this number claiming to be from Openreach, telling me there was a problem with my internet and offering to sort it out if I downloaded some software called Anydesk[###]. They really pushed me to download and install it right away, saying I had to click install immediately for it to work. When I asked questions, they got quite pushy about needing me to act fast. That set off warning bells, so I told them I wanted to verify who they were. They ended up giving me a number to call back, but instead I looked them up on ‘who called me’, and I’m glad I double checked!

I got a call from someone saying he was Justin from Openreach, claiming my internet was running slow. He didn’t know my name or where I live though, so pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, said there was something up with my router. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got two calls from Amazon today but each time from a different number. The second one came from 0777711216. They were saying something about an iPhone I supposedly bought, but before I could check on my laptop, I just ended the call and blocked the number.
