Someone rang me pretending to be about a hearing check, said it was because I was on a list for people working in loud places. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

i got a call from a very courteous woman who said i was on a list of folks that worked in noisy environments which might have affected their hearing. she claimed i could get a big payout for any hearing damage. when i asked how she got my info and if she could specify the industries, she just ignored my questions and kept repeating her usual spiel. i’m pretty sure the call was a scam, but i did manage to waste her time and maybe stop someone else from getting bothered. now that i’m retired, i actually enjoy messing about with these dodgy phone calls.

There's no way this is from Birmingham, 0191 is definitely a Newcastle upon Tyne area code.
