I had a similar experience. It was pretty clear it was a scam when he said I had to be sat at my computer to continue the call. I'm betting the next step would have been trying to get me to install some dodgy software, and then asking for money for it!

Got a call out the blue today around 3pm from someone telling me my computer had an issue. Pretty sure it was a scam.
