Today, my folks got a ring from 01909732859, with someone saying they were from a call blocking service. The voice sounded quite British at first, but then my parents asked for an interpreter, which was oddly offered straight away. They went on about some info they had which was pretty accurate, but when things got serious, they started asking for the number on the bank statement. My parents couldn’t recall much but mentioned they were after around £22, I believe.

Someone called saying they were from the telephone preference service, trying to sell me an upgraded option for a single payment. They seemed to know quite a bit about me, but I said no and ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke called Robin, sounded like he was from India or somewhere similar. He was trying to tell me that from tomorrow onwards, all those annoying calls would be blocked. I told him I already use call blocking and usually just ignore those telemarketer types. Then he started naming my address and full name, even mentioned I pay my phone bill by direct debit. Smelt like a classic scam to get my bank info or cash, so I just told him to jog on. Not falling for that rubbish!

I can't be completely sure who it was since they just hung up without saying anything, but after seeing what others have said here, I'm pretty convinced these are just scammers. They seem to be linked to a lot of the dodgy scams that plague anyone with a phone these days. It’s becoming such a common nuisance for everyone.

This number rang me thrice within the past hour. Definitely those dodgy overseas scams, pretending to be local with a UK area code. Really, bodies like OFGEM or BT-Openreach need to get serious and put a stop to these constant spam calls. They claim they can’t pinpoint the scammers, but that’s rubbish - to access any part of our phone system you have to pay, meaning it’s doable to track and block them. They just don’t want to put in the effort. Proper muppets.

Today I got two calls from this number. The person said they were Scarlett from Telephone Preference Management, but as soon as I asked for the full postal address to send a complaint, she just hung up. The accent sounded like it was from somewhere in the Indian sub-continent, even though the number showed up as being from Worksop. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent asking if I’d been getting any annoying calls on my home phone. I told her yeah, this one was exactly that. Then I just ended the call.

This number has rung me on three separate occasions within the past hour. Clearly, these calls are some dodgy scam from abroad, but they’re using a proper UK area code to cover it up. It’s high time that OFGEM or BT Openreach stepped in and put an end to these scams flooding the phones. They claim they can’t track down who’s behind it, but that’s rubbish. If you’re tapping into the phone network here, you have to cough up some fees, which means you can be traced and blocked easily. The reality is they just don’t want to bother sorting it out. Absolute muppets.

About half an hour back I got a call from someone named "Kim". There was that typical call centre noise in the background. She said she was ringing from some caller preference service in West London and told me my registration was ending today. Then she offered to renew it for free but wanted me to pay a £21 one-time admin fee. Honestly, it sounded like a total scam to me.

this number called me 6 times today, and the bloke had the nerve to claim he could stop unwanted calls. he even knew my name, where i live and my postcode. then he asked if i was still using the same card and its expiry date. thats when i told him to get lost. they tried ringing 2 more times but i just ignored it. cheers, mick

So yeah, I picked up once cos I was waitin on a call from my insurance but this bloke rang sayin he was from BT about annoying calls and caller preferences or something. He knew my name and address but got my post code wrong, which seemed suspicious to me so I just cut him off straightaway. I usually don’t pick up unless it’s from someone I know tho.

Got a call that felt totally dodgy - they tried to sweet talk me into giving info by using some clever tricks. As soon as I mentioned we were registered with the TPS, they just dropped the line.
