Someone just rang saying they were with Microsoft. Total scam and really annoying. How on earth do calls like this manage to slip past the phone providers?

Avoid this number at all costs, it's just a scam trying to get your info. Don’t trust them with any personal details, they're nothing but trouble. Honestly, they should be shut down, but police never seem to take action even when they could.

Today, my folks got a ring from 01909732859, with someone saying they were from a call blocking service. The voice sounded quite British at first, but then my parents asked for an interpreter, which was oddly offered straight away. They went on about some info they had which was pretty accurate, but when things got serious, they started asking for the number on the bank statement. My parents couldn’t recall much but mentioned they were after around £22, I believe.

Someone called saying they were from the telephone preference service, trying to sell me an upgraded option for a single payment. They seemed to know quite a bit about me, but I said no and ended the call.

As mentioned earlier by other commenters, I received the same call while waiting for another call. Since then, I have been receiving hourly calls from a blocked number. The first call claimed to be from the Telephone Preferential Monitoring Service.

Got a call from a bloke called Robin, sounded like he was from India or somewhere similar. He was trying to tell me that from tomorrow onwards, all those annoying calls would be blocked. I told him I already use call blocking and usually just ignore those telemarketer types. Then he started naming my address and full name, even mentioned I pay my phone bill by direct debit. Smelt like a classic scam to get my bank info or cash, so I just told him to jog on. Not falling for that rubbish!

I received numerous calls from a scammer, but I simply ignored them, grateful for having caller ID. It's handy for avoiding such nuisances.

I can't be completely sure who it was since they just hung up without saying anything, but after seeing what others have said here, I'm pretty convinced these are just scammers. They seem to be linked to a lot of the dodgy scams that plague anyone with a phone these days. It’s becoming such a common nuisance for everyone.

This number rang me thrice within the past hour. Definitely those dodgy overseas scams, pretending to be local with a UK area code. Really, bodies like OFGEM or BT-Openreach need to get serious and put a stop to these constant spam calls. They claim they can’t pinpoint the scammers, but that’s rubbish - to access any part of our phone system you have to pay, meaning it’s doable to track and block them. They just don’t want to put in the effort. Proper muppets.

This number has rang me a bunch of times today, and I finally answered. The bloke said he was with the telephone preference service, but it sounded a bit fishy. When I asked him for his full contact details, he just hung up on me straight away. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

This weird number keeps ringing my landline every hour for the last three hours straight. I pick up, say nothing, and after about 10 seconds, the call just ends. Doesn't ring a bell at all.

Something about Telephone Preference Service or whatever it’s called. I’m seriously thinking of upgrading my non-existent call blocking because of all these annoying calls. When I told them to bugger off, they didn’t seem to care.

Today I got two calls from this number. The person said they were Scarlett from Telephone Preference Management, but as soon as I asked for the full postal address to send a complaint, she just hung up. The accent sounded like it was from somewhere in the Indian sub-continent, even though the number showed up as being from Worksop. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent asking if I’d been getting any annoying calls on my home phone. I told her yeah, this one was exactly that. Then I just ended the call.

This number has rung me on three separate occasions within the past hour. Clearly, these calls are some dodgy scam from abroad, but they’re using a proper UK area code to cover it up. It’s high time that OFGEM or BT Openreach stepped in and put an end to these scams flooding the phones. They claim they can’t track down who’s behind it, but that’s rubbish. If you’re tapping into the phone network here, you have to cough up some fees, which means you can be traced and blocked easily. The reality is they just don’t want to bother sorting it out. Absolute muppets.

After checking the phone records, it was discovered that this particular number made four phone calls while we were away today. Surprisingly, no voicemail or message was left behind. To investigate further, I decided to call back using the 141 code in order to hide my own number. However, it became evident that the number was fake and does not exist. It is quite clear that this was an attempt by scammers to reach us.

They've made three phone calls today within the past hour, but haven't left any messages. It's clear they are either trying to scam or wasting our time.

During the phone call, I was informed that I was the sole participant in this conference call. It was peculiar because the day before, I received five calls from a different number claiming to be a company that specializes in blocking unwanted calls. Strangely, they knew my name but had an outdated address on file. This isn't the first time I've encountered such a situation, as something similar happened a few weeks ago. Now, they started probing for information about my credit cards, although they didn't request the full card numbers, they did ask for the expiration dates.

Its quite odd seeing posts from last december about this number, then nothing for ages until today. They rang me while i was out but there is no way im keeping this number on my phone, going straight to block.

Got calls from this number like 7 times within a day. Never left a voicemail or anything. I once answered on a whim and just got silence - felt like being stuck in some call centre maze with no one there unless you’re really unlucky. I’m pretty sure ringing back on this one might cost you loads, so watch out!

About half an hour back I got a call from someone named "Kim". There was that typical call centre noise in the background. She said she was ringing from some caller preference service in West London and told me my registration was ending today. Then she offered to renew it for free but wanted me to pay a £21 one-time admin fee. Honestly, it sounded like a total scam to me.

I received several calls today. Since I was expecting calls from the hospital and other important places, I answered one of them. The person on the other end, who sounded Asian, asked for me by name. I inquired about their identity and they mentioned something about a telephone preference service. I informed them that I was already registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service), indicating that they should not be calling me. Thankfully, I have now blocked their number on my phone.

He stated that he was contacting me regarding my preferences for receiving calls and addressing nuisance calls. He claimed that BT had provided him with my information. Although he had my name and address, he provided an incorrect postcode. Therefore, I decided to terminate the call. Typically, I do not answer calls from unfamiliar numbers. However, I was anticipating a call from my insurance company this time.

Scam phone call - employing manipulative tactics to deceive you into divulging personal information. The caller swiftly disconnected when I mentioned our registration with the Telephone Preference Service. It appears to be a call centre operation, as the individual communicating had limited command over the English language.

I reckon this bothersome call is linked to a dodgy scam I've flagged from a different number. It claims to be from Clevedon-01275250667-pretending to represent the Telephone Preference Service. I've already informed the actual TPS about this, but I think voicing more complaints might help shed some light on the situation.

I have had a similar experience as well. I think this male caller may be associated with the number 01275250667, which is linked to an area known as Clevedon. They claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service, but when I called them, I found it to be quite bothersome. I have encountered a couple of callers with Asian accents.
