Received a call claiming to be from British Gas regarding upgrades to our gas meters. They mentioned some changes that needed sorting, but there was a peculiar lack of our email on file. Felt rather dodgy to me!

I've received calls from this number numerous times in the last week or so. Initially, I did attempt to call back, but I was met with silence – no one picked up at all. However, just today, I found a message left on my answering machine, which stated they were with some initiative from British Gas regarding smart meter installations. The thing is, British Gas isn’t even our energy provider!

Gave them a ring, but they hung up as soon as my voicemail started playing. I checked on a 'who called' site and noticed a fair few others have had similar experiences with this number.

I haven't a clue who's been ringing me as I've set my phone to block unknown numbers. Whenever I do ask about who it was, I can hardly decipher the name they give. It's quite vexing, really, as they seem to call me every day without fail!

I haven't a clue—didn't have a word with them.

As soon as you lift the receiver, the line just cuts off.

Whenever I attempt to return the call, the line just cuts out.
