Twice now I’ve had a call claiming to be from Virgin Media's tech support just after I’ve scheduled a real engineer visit for a fault I’m having. A woman calls, pretending to be from Virgin’s technical team about my broadband issue. Then she passes me to a guy called Brian Wilson, who says he’s a supervisor. They tell me they need to check my computer for speed tests, then ask me to type in some links. Afterwards, they start talking about ‘illegal activity’ on my computer and threaten to cut off my internet unless I pay a fine. Total scam.
