Typically, whenever I probed them further, they would hang up rather abruptly. A chap named Jim then came on the line, claiming he needed to verify my personal information legally. Before I could even consider sharing any details, I insisted he clarify his identity and his location. Unfortunately, he merely reiterated his name, failing to provide any pertinent information about where he was calling from. I pressed him several times regarding the purpose of the call and his origins, but he reacted rather unpleasantly, insisting that he wouldn't engage unless I divulged my details and threatened me with legal action if I refused. When I stood my ground and said I wouldn’t provide any information without knowing who he was and why he was calling - voicing my suspicion that he was up to no good - he became exceedingly abusive, even hurling accusations about despicable things. I found the whole exchange intolerable and promptly hung up, attempting to ring the number back, but it was as if the line had vanished.
