Total scam, just like everyone else said here. I managed to keep the guy chatting for nearly 15 minutes, and by the end he was proper annoyed. I find it usually does the trick and they often remove you from their calling lists if they think you’re wasting their time. Seems like a fair swap to me.

Some bloke with a weird accent called claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He asked if we were still signed up and whether our info needed changing. I said I'd sort it out on my own, and you could tell he wasn’t too pleased about that.

Over the course of one day, I got about seven calls from a bloke saying he was with some sort of phone preference service. Quite annoying, really.

Got a call from a woman speaking with a South Asian accent, saying she was from the telephone preference service. She was really pushy and quite stubborn when I questioned her. Not long ago, my elderly neighbour fell for a very similar scammer who said they were offering an upgraded call blocking service and ended up sharing their personal info.

Got a robocall today from a different number but seemed like the same scammer who was ringing me a few days back about the “telephone preference service” trick. The caller ID showed “intemational” which looked suspicious. Definitely a scam attempt again.

So this number called me earlier wanting to speak to the landline owner, I just ended the call. Then a couple hours later, a lady rings from the same number asking for Mr Briggs. I asked if she was Mrs Briggs and she just dropped the call! Weird.
