I got a phone call early morning around 8am from a woman claiming to be with the DVLA about a crash I supposedly had last year. Thing is, I didn’t have any accident then. Later on, she phoned again asking if I’d been in any accident in the past two years. Turns out it probably wasn’t the DVLA after all. Is that even allowed? It was a bit annoying because I was waiting for a different call at the time.

Missed the call from a local number, so I returned it, but no one home - the number apparently isn’t valid. Then about half an hour later, another call from what looked like the same area code, probably those dodgy ambulance chaser types. The number was 01905 969850. I tossed the bloke a load of rubbish and some nonsense, and he hung up pretty sharpish. :-)

Got a call from someone claiming that HMRC was sending the police over because I supposedly owe them money. sounded pretty dodgy and made me nervous for a bit. Definitely a scam to watch out for!

Got a call from 01905885367, a person with an Asian accent kept ringing me about some road traffic accident investigation. They called me four times within one hour! I knew it was dodgy straight away but they just kept phoning non-stop. Really worried about where they got my landline number from.

On 12th August 2020 at about 10 in the morning, I answered and asked who was calling. A guy named Paul spoke with a strong Asian accent and said he was checking up from the 'Accident Investigation Department'. I just ended the call straight away.

I’ve been getting calls for the past two days from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was calling about a recent accident of mine. I asked her where she got that info, and she claimed it was from some National Accident Claims website. I told her that sounded pretty unlikely since I haven’t had an accident in over 35 years, and told her to take my number off their list and to stop bothering me or I’d have to report them.

Got a call saying they were from some national accident help group, then they told me to check accidentadvise[###] for more info, but that website isn’t real! They claimed to be located on Wellington Street in Sheffield, so I asked why the call was coming from a Worcester number instead. When I asked to be taken off their list, they just hung up! Blocked the number straight away!

Then she went on about it possibly happening anytime within the past two years. I made it clear again that no accident had happened, told her to stop calling, and ended the call. Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, he said it was to do with some car crash. I told him I don’t own a car, then he said someone had given my number. I just said cheers and hung up.

Got a call from a woman with a strong foreign accent claiming to be from the Road Safety Authority, saying I was in an accident. Total lie. She handed me over to her ‘manager’ who also had a thick foreign accent. He said he got details from my insurance about the incident and then asked me to explain what happened. I told him, “You’ve got the info, so why don’t you tell me?” That seemed to throw him off a bit. When I asked which country’s Road Safety Authority he was with, he went quiet. I just told them to stop wasting my time and hung up. Definitely a scam!
