some guy called my mum, who’s quite old, and started threatening her saying he’d send people round to sort her out. it’s a shame i can’t get hold of him, i’d really make him understand what real fear means.

Someone called me saying they were from HMRC, gave a London address, and mentioned I owed some money to them. Felt a bit off to me.

If you ring back, expect a hefty charge. I can’t imagine HMRC wrapping up a call with a “have a blessed day” after a threatening message like that.

They claimed to be from HMRE, but that doesn’t sound legit at all.

Got a robocall the other day saying they were from hmrc, trying to scare me into ringing a specific number by warning about some legal trouble. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

This call is a total scam. It comes from a robot pretending to be HMRC and sounds really threatening. I actually reported that exact call the year before. Avoid it!

Supposedly HMRC, but sounded well dodgy and a bit scary if you’re silly enough to fall for it! No way HMRC would give you a ring like that.

Regarding the earlier post, I got one of those automated calls claiming there was some urgent issue with HMRC involving "you" (never mentioned any name or anything proper). The message warned that if you didn’t ring the number given straight away, you’d face heavy legal penalties and big fees. The caller said he was Michael Cole from HM Revenue and Customs. Pretty clear this is a scam, and I bet if you call that number, you'll get hit with a huge phone charge!
