This lady rang me up saying I’d bagged 6 free tickets from the national lottery, and that they’d be sent out within 3 to 5 days. Then she tried to tell me I could buy lottery tickets for just 5p a go - yeah right, no way that’s legit. I just ended the call. Sounds like a classic scam to swipe your bank info.

I received a call purportedly from the National Lottery, and they seemed to know my name and where I live. They mentioned that I would receive ten complimentary entries into my lottery account. As they proceeded to push me into signing up for some kind of promotional offer, I decided to end the conversation, especially since I don't even have a lottery account!

They said I was going to get 10 free lottery entries added to my account, but then they started pushing me to join some kind of deal. I ended the call straight away because I don't even have a lottery account.

Claimed to be representing the National Lottery, they had my name and address on file. I decided to end the call at that point, seeing as I don’t even have a lottery account!

Some bloke with a local accent rang me up saying I’d been picked to get 10 free lottery tickets. He even mentioned my postcode! Don’t trust it though, I just blocked the number straight away.

I received a call from someone with a distinct Asian accent, clearly operating out of a bustling call centre. The individual claimed to be assessing life insurance options and wanted to go over my current policy. He insisted he could provide me with an offer that was supposedly ten times more advantageous and would help me save some cash. However, I made it clear that I’m content with my existing life insurance provider and requested that he refrain from contacting me in the future.

some bloke called claiming he’s with the lottery and said he’d send me free tickets, apparently doing this across the whole country. he even knew my home address which made me a bit uneasy. obviously, I blocked the number. nobody just hands out stuff for free unless they’re trustworthy, right?

Like I mentioned earlier, this caller didn’t say a word. There was no sound coming through, but I could tell someone was definitely there on the line.

Got a call from a bloke pushing life insurance, said he was calling from some office in South Attic. Once I brought up GDPR stuff, he didn’t just hang up straight away, he kept me on the line for a good five minutes, asking what he’d messed up and trying to persuade me that deleting my details would sort it. In the end, he just put the phone down on me anyway.
