Got a call from a guy with an African accent claiming the Government has a scheme to help with the cost of living crunch. He said he could sort me out by wiping all my debts and stopping the interest, paying everything off for me. When I asked if it sounded legit, he kept replying, "Maaam, maaaam!" and went on about how folks can’t afford their bread. I asked him what "bread" meant, and then he just hung up, looking miffed. No doubt about it - total SCAM!

Residing in Sweden, I recently received a call from a different number that bears a resemblance to this one; it was also hailing from York in the UK. I’ve since decided to block both numbers. Honestly, I don’t have any acquaintances in the UK, so it seems pointless to pick up those calls.

So I just saw I missed a call today, and get this, it's Easter SUNDAY! I was searching for car insurance deals yesterday, so maybe that's why they rang? I usually don’t answer if I don’t know the number, so didn’t pick up. Strange timing though!

Picked up the phone and all I got was a ringing sound, like I was the one calling them. I’ve had a few missed calls coming from numbers starting with 01904, and after checking here, it seems they’re known to be a pest. Ended up just hanging up on them.
